“Me too,” she admitted. Then she turned to the sink to wash some of the dishes. “And I’ve been finally feeling less guilty every time I’ve hoped for that,” she said softly.

My blood pounded through my veins. I’d wanted to hear her say something like that for months.

“There’s no need for guilt. Not anymore,” I said softly as I stepped close behind her.

Her whole body tensed and her movements slowed as she seemed to sense my closeness.

I fought the urge to wrap my arms around her. I reached for the counter instead, bracketing her body between my arms.

Her hands shook as she put a dish in the drainer. I leaned closer, softly resting my forehead against her head.

“Lana,” I murmured in her hair. "I can't stop thinking about you. I’ve wanted you since the moment I saw you."

She sighed and shook her head slowly.

I moved my hands from the counter and gently rested them on her hips. “Tell me you don’t want this. Tell me I’m crazy and I’ve imagined this thing between us.”

“I feel it too, but…,” she paused. “What kind of a woman does that? Dates one brother, then jumps into the arms of the other brother after they break up.”

"One that ended up with the wrong brother because the other one let her slip away.”

She inhaled, her body shuddering.

I breathed in deeply, letting the light floral scent of her hair soak into me.

“Tell me to stop and I will.” I leaned down enough that my lips brushed the shell of her ear as I whispered, "Just say the word, Lana. Or I won’t be able to stop myself."

Slowly, I slid my hands up the sides of her body.

“Dylan…” she whispered.

My hands froze in place as I held my breath.

“I don’t want you to stop,” she continued. “I feel it every time I'm with you. From that first day we met. There's this connection between us I can't explain."

She leaned back against me, her body trembling lightly against mine.

Any doubts I’d ever had disappeared.

“Baby,” I breathed as Lana ever so slowly turned to face me. I got lost in her beautiful blue eyes, wondering how the hell I’d ever let this woman slip through my fingers.

I wasn’t going to make that mistake again.

LANA

I turnedand slid my hands up Dylan’s chest. Looking into his eyes, I knew I was finally going to have what I’d wanted for so long.

It really wasn’t fair. I was leaving tomorrow. The timing was terrible.

But there was no way I could resist. Not after the words he whispered in my ear.

"I can't fight this anymore," I said, my voice shaking.

My heartbeat pounded in my ears.

"Then don't," he whispered.
