“Best night ever,” they agree.

Dragging her feet as she climbs the steps, Kim grabs my arms, her eyes swirling. “Goodnight, Logan. I’m going to bed. I trust you’ll take care of my sister.”

“Of course.”

“You two make me nauseous but I love it.”

She pulls off her heels and drops them at the bottom of the stairs with a thud.

Beth follows, but her footsteps are accompanied with an uncontrollable giggle. “I fucking hate high heels,” she tries to whisper but she’s far too loud.

“Beth!” Molly shouts from the car. When I look back, I see her leaning over Archer in the driver’s seat. He shakes his head as he slaps her on the ass. “Stop it, Archer. I’m having a moment with Beth,” she scolds.

Beth spins around, leaning against the door frame.

“You’re the best,” Molly whisper-yells, or at least she tries. She loses all sense of hearing when she’s drunk.

Beth points at what I think is supposed to be Molly, but only certain limbs are working, and she falls back against my chest. “No,you’rethe best.” Tilting her head back, her eyes are glassy when she explains, “Tequila.”

“That will do it.” I grab her shoulders to steady her.

Archer tries to get Molly back in her seat, securing her with the seat belt. He turns back as Molly blows kisses. “There’s my favorite brother-in-law,” she slurs.

“I bet you say that to all of us.”

“Only to you and Jaxson.”

“Trouble.”

“And Beth.” Molly hiccups. “You should take my brother up on his offer. He’s really into you.”

My blood freezes in my veins, my muscles tensing up. Jealousy, possessive and raw, grips me tight.

Beth's cheeks color instantly, her eyes wide with shock. She refuses to meet my gaze, her fingers nervously twisting the hem of her shirt.

Archer shoots me an apologetic smile before driving away.

The engine revs in the distance when I turn to Beth, tying to keep my expression unreadable. “What offer?”

She looks at me, her eyes clear despite the alcohol running through her veins. Her cheeks flush a deeper shade of pink. “Ace may or may not have asked me out.”

My jaw clenches. “And what did you say?”

“I didn't say anything. I froze,” she answers, the words spilling out in a nervous rush. “I'm not good in those situations.”

“Do you want to go out with him?” I ask, my tone deceptively casual.

She eyes me for a moment, even drunk catching onto my jealousy. It does nothing but make her blush more. She bites her lips together and shakes her head. “No, I don't want to go out with him.”

I let out a low growl of relief, still unsatisfied. “Did he touch you?”

I’ll fucking snap his neck.

Beth blinks at me, surprised by the question. The ensuing silence is far too long for my liking.

“Beth?” I ask again, my tone harder this time.

“No,” she replies quickly. “We just talked. Ace is nice, but I’m not into him like that.”
