She was not a fan of spooky passageways that led into basement like areas, or small dark places. She watched way too many movies, and someone always gets attacked in places like this.

Thankfully as a werewolf she had enhanced eyesight so could see in the dimly lit tunnel, but it still gave her the creeps.

It was no more than a minute or two when they exited the stairway into a bright room. Jordan was standing on the other side of the room in front of a metal door.

He nodded at them, “Alpha, Beta, Mackenzie. Sorry for the early wake up call, but he changed. Thought it would be better to get this done as soon as possible.”

“It’s fine and you’re right. The sooner the better.” Marshall said, then walked past Jordan and pushed through the metal door. They all followed him into a large area with several cells.

It looked like what she would imagine a prison looks like. There were three cells, all exactly the same. They each had a cot, a sink with no mirror, and a door which she assumed led to a bathroom. Well at least they had some privacy to use the bathroom.

Dimitri was in the farthest cell from the door. There were two other wolves standing guard near the end of the room.

Marshall walked right up to Dimitri’s cell, “Well hello there Dimitri. I hope you’re comfortable.”

“Fuck you, Blake! Let me go.” Dimitri practically shouted at Marshall as he slammed himself into the bars.

The man was a mess. He had dried blood all over him which she figured was from when they captured him. He was also covered in dirt, and she could smell urine and body odor as well. It was a disgusting combination and made her nose twitch. He was tall, as she was starting to suspect all werewolf men were, with medium brown hair and brown eyes.

He was surprisingly average looking. She expected someone so horrible and cruel to look like a monster, but he just looked like someone you would pass on the street, completely unremarkable.

Marshall walked a little closer to the bars, “Now why would I let you go when you haven’t even told me anything yet? I’m sure you can give me all kinds of juicy information. For example, why the hell are you on my lands?”

Dimitri snarled and slammed his body into the bars again, “You won’t figure it out asshole. We have a plan.”

“Oh really? And what plan is that?” Marshall asked. She noticed Aiden was standing back, but he was observing Dimitri closely, watching his face.

She tried to see what he was looking for, but only saw an angry dirty man.

“Andre is going to destroy you, just wait.” Dimitri started to chuckle quietly. It was creepy and a little demented.

Aiden stepped closer now, “Why would he want to do that? What does Andre have against Silver Lake?”

Dimitri shrugged and leaned against the bars like he had nowhere else to be, “Nothing as far as I know. He just wants power.”

Dimitri didn’t seem like the brightest crayon in the box. He talked a lot of bluster, but in trying to sound important he was giving more away than he probably intended. They wouldn’t need to figure anything out if he kept talking.

“What power? We are werewolves, not witches.” Marshall stated calmly, though she could see the thoughts running through his mind, she knew he wouldn’t say anything about their little spurts of magic use.

Dimitri sneered at him, “Games, Blake? That’s childish. You and your sexy little sister over there have magic, and he wants it.” He squished his face up against the bars, looking at Kenzie now, “You’re a hot little thing. Why don’t you come closer?”

Aiden slapped his hand against the bars right next to Dimitri’s face, making him flinch back, “Do not speak to her.”

The sneer was back on Dimitri’s face, and it made her skin crawl. His eyes were empty and flat. Something had definitely rotted in this man.

Marshall reached through the bar and grabbed Dimitri by his torn shirt, slamming him forward so his face smashed into the bars again, “Tell me exactly what Andre wants with us, and why is Black Falls working with him?”

Dimitri, with his face partly smooshed said, “There is a prophecy about you and your sister, about your magic. You are going to be powerful, and he wants to harness that power. I don’t know why. And Andre and Tate have known each other for a long time. They have always been allies. Now let me go fucker!”

Marshall released his shirt and took a step back, wiping his hand on his pant leg to remove the grime.

Dimitri stepped back and rubbed his abused face, “Damn Blake, I just wanted your sister to grease my pole. I only like it rough with women.”

Marshall stepped up to the bars and growled at Dimitri, “Shut the fuck up you piece of shit. You’ll never touch her.”

He smirked, “I touched Sorcha. We know she is here, but that’s okay, you can keep her. She’s used goods.”

“You son of a bitch, I will kill you.” Marshall snarled.
