Me: How dare you curse me like that!

He sent back an array of emojis, and I sighed, looking at the notification on my computer. Two new appointments had been set in my calendar. When I opened it up and read the first one. It was for the meeting the next day. The second one, though, had been put in completely wrong. I chuckled, pressing the intercom. "Pam, the second calendar event was put in like ten years in the past."

"I only put in one," she replied. "Would you like me to figure it out?"

I shook my head. "No, no. That's fine. I'll take care of it."

Pulling up the search bar, I put in the date and pulled it up in my calendar. It was Jan. 6th from a long time before. "Sheesh. I wasn't even at the company then. Now I'm responsible for events from the past."

I opened it up and looked at the event. It read, "The bells are chiming, and the past affects everyone."

My brow furled, and I rolled my eyes, hitting the delete button. My brother probably did it. He was always going in and adding random appointments to my calendar. Last time he blocked off an entire afternoon for the "New Harbor Fish Parade." It was like he was still thirteen years old, picking on me all the time. At least I saw he was still up to his old antics. He had been crazy quiet the last month. Then again, we were both being worked to the bone.

Leaning back, I pulled up an email from Sicily: Here's Ryder's number. Don't forget to call him. Also, here are a couple of venues I thought were cute for the party. Daniel's mom and dad are planning the reception dinner, but I gave her your number in case she needed anything.

I clicked on the different links, browsing through the web pages of one of the Whiskey venues she had sent. They had turned the main building of an old whiskey distillery into an event space. It even had a cask room that was for cigars and whiskey drinking. It was definitely an exciting place. It might work out. It would give the guys their own space if they wanted, but the main room would be for everyone to dine in.

I knew it wasn't usual for the bride to be involved in planning the party. Still, Sicily was nervous because they weren't having a bachelor party. She wanted to make sure the event was fun for everyone. She would never get out of the stare-down Daniel's guys would give her at least once, but hopefully, I could make an enjoyable evening out of it. I was hoping to take her to Vegas, get some male strippers dressed like cowboys, and ice shots shaped like a penis. I wanted to go all out gaudy, penis straws, penis cake, penis t-shirts. The whole nine. But she crushed my fun.

Now I had to sit down with the biker, trying to find any common ground with him to plan the thing. Don't get me wrong, Ryder was hot as hell. Muscles for days, the perfect smile, and that rough and tough attitude girls like me usually drooled over. But he was an ass, not just because he didn't chase after me. Because he acted like everything was a pain in the ass, and he was miserable everywhere but on his motorcycle with his leather jacket and helmet. I would never know how he had a reputation for being a playboy.

None of that mattered, though. I would call Ryder tomorrow, have a quick drink, convince him I didn't need his help which he would be relieved by, and I could go on my way. Anything for Sicily.

Chapter Three

Ryder

"Great," I said, looking at the head of R&D. "These are all great. Just compile the information for me and email it over. If we can get it by Monday, that would help. I know it's a stretch, but Daniel's going to the tech expo next week and has client meetings. So I'd like him to have the most up-to-date information."

I ended the meeting and returned to my office, finding Guy sitting inside. "You know you have your own office to do nothing in."

He chuckled. "I know, but it's much more fun doing nothing in here."

I smirked and sat down, tossing the notes from the meeting to the side. "What can I do for you today?"

"I've been mulling over a couple of ideas for Daniel's bachelor party, and I wanted to run them by you," he said.

I forgot that Daniel hadn't broken it to the guys yet. So I guessed it was going to be my job to deliver the bad news.

"Before you launch into your list of lingerie models and liquor binges, I have something to tell you."

He sat forward. "Did you already get a spot? It's fucking awesome, isn't it?"

"No, not yet. I have a meeting with the maid of honor at some point to discuss it."

Guy's brow furrowed. "Why would the maid of honor be planning the bachelor party with you?"

"Because Daniel wants a joint party with class and dignity," I replied. "He'd like to start his married life without the worry that someone gave him a disease the weekend before."

Guy slapped his hands down on the chair arms and shook his head. "Do the other guys know about this?"

I took a deep breath, not having prepared myself for the melodrama that was ensuing. "No. And I would appreciate if you let Daniel tell them."

He shook his finger, heading for the door. "Where's Daniel. We're having a talk."

I couldn't even answer him before he had stomped out of the room. I put my fingers on my temples, very glad that it was Friday. The intercom buzzed.

"There's an Amber on the phone for you," my secretary said.
