“All right. Mind your manners.” She watched him leave and waited until he reached the kids’ area.

Aunt Jess raised a hand to say she knew he and Benji were there.

“You look washed out, Autumn. What’s the deal?” Piper asked her.

“No deal.”

“Definitely a deal. My guess is it has something to do with why the Winter brothers went at each other this morning.”

Surely Nash and Ford hadn’t fought because of her?

“Brothers.” Maggie sighed. “Mine can be incredibly dense sometimes.”

“Joe, Jack, and Luke are like that. Although they don’t hit each other as much these days,” Piper said.

“What has my big brother done to upset you and Nash, Autumn?” Maggie asked. “He wouldn’t tell me.” Her lips thinned.

“Nothing,” she said quickly. “Really, I’m all good.”

“No, I don’t think you’re good,” Luna said. “Neither is Ford.”

“I’m guessing that since it’s my brother who has likely made an ass of himself, you don’t want to talk to me about it.”

“Maggie, can we leave it please?”

“Sure, but if you leave that stuff, if festers. Remember we’re your friends now, Autumn. So talk if you need to, and we’ll listen,” Piper said.

“Thanks.” These people were always getting her choked up. But she wouldn’t be talking to them about Ford or the fact that her father was likely in this town and maybe standing across from her at this very moment.

The men took the court, and Autumn looked at everyone but Ford as the game started. Not easy as often he was in her line of sight. His shirt clung to all those muscles, which wasn’t helping matters. The man could move. He leaped into the air and spiked another ball, which had the Ryker Falls supporters cheering loudly.

Her heart didnotjust sigh.

“So you and Ford.” Piper nudged her.

“We’re not going there, remember,” Autumn said.

“Nash said he thinks you’re good for Ford,” Luna said, “and hopes Ford didn’t ruin it by being a dumbass. His words, not mine.”

“You do look good together,” Quinn said from behind her.

Autumn sighed loudly, hoping it would shut them all up.

“Tell me he’s more than just a nice guy,” Piper whispered so Maggie couldn’t hear. “I mean, that body has to have made you a happy girl.”

“Piper!” Autumn looked around in horror.

“No one can hear. Go, Ryker Falls!” she roared as Ford lobbed the ball over the net.

“So is he?” Luna nudged her from the other side, clearly listening in. “I mean, I’m sure my Winter excels in every way, but does yours?”

“You guys are terrible, and he doesn’t want to be my Winter, so let it go please,” she hissed.

“Did he say that?” Quinn asked.

“Kind of… I don’t know,” Autumn whispered.

“I know when a man is gone over a woman, and Ford is that for you, Autumn,” Luna said.
