He grinned a little. “You’re such a fearless little hell cat. Do you know that?” and he rolled her over on her back. “How do you want me?”

“Just like this,” Sky coaxed, opening her thighs to him. “I want to see your face when you come inside me, Cal. I want to experience us like never before… I want to remember every second of us coming together… mating…”

Her words triggered a powerful male sense of protection toward the woman he loved with all his life. “Okay, Sweetheart, this is for us, for the baby we’re going to make tonight…” and he covered her, his knee pushing her thighs wider, “because I want to see you come, too. I want to see what our love can create between us… together…”

Sky closed her eyes, smiling, her hands moving gently across Cal’s broad, thick shoulders. She felt her lower body flex as his flesh pressed thickly against her entrance. Without a condom it felt so different. So… wonderful. Raw. Flesh against flesh. Oh, yes, this was the way it should be, and she arched her hips, sliding her long, slender legs around his narrow hips, the need to couple with Cal so primal within her that it took her breath away.

The elemental pleasure of Cal sliding into her, deliberately teasing that knot, bringing her body to glowing life once again, made Sky moan. Now, she felt Cal in every possible way, the walls of herself stimulated even more, and it made Sky open her eyes and drown into his narrowed ones, his intense gaze riveted upon her as he thrust teasingly into her. He had such a hard face, weathered, toughened by so many years outdoors in dangerous, harsh conditions. And as Cal cupped her breast, Sky arched into his hand, her flesh tingling wildly as his calloused fingers triggered an avalanche of fiery sensations, tightening her below. Leaning down, he teased one nipple and then the other, tight points begging to be lavished by him. Sky felt herself dismantling, the heat imploding within her, and she arched, crying out Cal’s name, her fingers digging deep into his biceps, feeling animal-like, raw pleasure singing through her as they mated.

Just as she orgasmed, her body ravenous, wanting more of him, Cal slid one hand beneath her hips, angling her just so, milking that orgasm of hers until she flushed, her cries turning into sweet mewls that made him love her even more. It was then that Cal thrust into her, feeling the raw grip of her surrounding him. Gritting his teeth, Cal held her gaze, her half-opened eyes dazed, gold shimmering in their depths. He took her deeper and deeper, so damned sensitized to Sky’s body, every sensation amplified times ten.

Cal couldn’t control himself like before, the sliding friction squeezing him, pulling him so tightly against her that he felt the climax erupt and explode through him. The fiery heat tore down his spine, tightening his balls until it was damn near painful, and then unleashing within her hungry, welcoming body. He drowned in Sky’s loving gaze. A guttural growl tore out of him as he felt the throbbing release pouring into her and it was all he could do but freeze in place, the pleasure searing his brain, burning through his groin, hurtling him into a space he’d never been before. And through it all, Sky pushed her hips against his, bringing him to total collapse as he sank against her slender form afterward.

Cal couldn’t think, only feel. He weakly framed Sky’s face, kissing her, feeling drugged and satiated as never before. She was so hot and fluid, her sex scent drawn deeply into his flared nostrils. Sky was was his life, she tasted good, her skin warm velvet beneath his exploring fingers, her lips soft and hauntingly strong in a way only his woman could be beneath his searching mouth. Their breaths were sharp and gasping. Her breasts rose and fell against his chest. He’d never felt so strong, so powerful as a man, until now. Cal never, ever wanted to forget this moment torn out of time and place.

“Don’t leave me,” Sky panted softly, holding him with her woman’s strength, glorying in him being deeply lodged within her. There was something incredibly beautiful, so ethereal about their union that she pressed her cheek against his, tears leaking out of her eyes. She WANTED his baby. Her heart was wide open, ready to be written on it by him for the rest of her life. Sky gloried in every breath he took against her, felt the caring strength of his arms, felt him adjust how much weight he was placing upon her. Cal had told her once that he was always situationally aware of her. Sky believed it. SEALs had a sixth sense that was evolved to a place few humans would ever achieve, and he always monitored her, felt, and sensed her. Because he loved her. She sobbed against Cal, her arms tight around his neck, holding him close, loving him passionately.

“Hey,” Cal rumbled, easing away just enough to look into her glistening eyes. He lifted his hand, smoothing strands of hair away from her temple, drowning in their turquoise color, seeing unparalleled happiness in their depths. “Did I hurt you?”

Sniffing, Sky rolled her head back and forth. “N-no… just the beauty of us… feeling you inside me for the first time like this. It’s wonderful, Cal… I’m crying because I’m happy,” and she smiled brokenly, his face blurring before her eyes. Sky saw the tenderness burning in Cal’s understanding gaze, in his smile, as he leaned down, brushing small kisses across her brow, her eyes and finally, across her mouth.

“This was,” Cal growled, moving his tongue across her lower lip, feeling her respond, “the best sex I’ve ever had.” And he gave her a look of awe. “I don’t know what did it. Maybe without a condom? Maybe,” and he shrugged a little, “because I just got you pregnant?”

“You feel so good inside of me, Cal. I can’t explain it,” and Sky touched his jaw, feeling the sandpapery quality of it beneath her fingertips. “It was wonderful for me too. It’s so much better without a condom,” and she smiled a little, wiping the tears from her eyes.

“Maybe because we really do love one another,” Cal rasped, moving his hips slowly, feeling himself becoming thicker, growing within her. He saw Sky’s eyes grow darker, telling him she liked what he was doing. Her body was so wet, the smell of her sex driving him to hardness once again.

“I like you in me like this. Don’t leave.”

“I’ll roll us on our sides,” Cal reassured her, kissing Sky once more and then guiding her beside him. He brought her leg over his so they could remain coupled, the sensations continued to be exquisite, satisfying, as never before. Sky sighed and nestled her brow against Cal’s jaw, sliding her arm across his hard torso. “I love you,” he growled, drawing Sky tight against him, letting her know it in every way possible. He slid his hand across her hips and embraced her tight against him. She moaned that soft sound, telling him she enjoyed him remaining deep within her, giving her renewed pleasure.

“Sometimes,” Sky murmured, her voice wispy, “I think my love for you will make my heart explode and I’ll die from the utter joy of it.”

Cal closed his eyes, holding her so he could feel her heart against his. “I know. You can’t put it into words what I feel for you, Sky.” Threading his fingers through her silky hair, Cal watched the moonlight dance across her multi-colored strands. “You are my life. You know that, don’t you?” and he pulled back just enough to engage her druzy looking eyes. The tenderness she shared with him told Cal everything. “You’re mine,” Cal growled. “Always and forever…”

June 5

Sky found herselfsurrounded by Cal’s old SEAL team. Joe Harrison and his wife Abby had given them the first-floor condo on a three-story building he own on Coronado Island. They had flown in midday and had picked them up at Lindbergh International Airport hours earlier. They had left their two-year-old twins, Michael and Dawn, with Abby’s mother, Poppy, back in West Virginia. They would be staying in the other ground-floor condo next door to them. Abby had thoughtfully brought a huge bouquet of flowers arranged on the coffee table, giving the spare, clean condo some bright color. The windows looked out over San Diego Bay to the south and Sky found herself staring at the smooth, marine-blue, sun-dappled water.

Cal’s ex-SEAL friend Ben Gordon and his wife Leah had also arrived. They had a one-year-old baby girl, Samantha, who Ben’s mother was caring for their child in their absence. They were staying at the posh historical and famous Del, the massive hotel on one end of the island. Jack Driscoll would arrive two days before the wedding with his crew from Shield Security. Hunter Gibson, still a SEAL, had gotten permission to come out of the Chocolate Mountains training area in Arizona to attend their wedding. Sky could see that Cal was happy being surrounded by his SEAL team buddies.

“Hey,” Abby called, gesturing for Sky to come over to the pink granite island where she was pouring some wine, “let’s sit here and let the guys gab.” Abby wore a white pantsuit and a tasteful silver tee beneath it. She pushed her curly light brown hair away from her face and quickly tamed it into a ponytail.

Sky grinned and nodded. “Thanks, Abby,” she said, holding up her glass of water and gently clinking it against Abby’s wineglass. She liked Abby’s freckled face. Cal had shared with her that Abby was part of a top-secret group of volunteer military women who had been assigned to black ops groups around the world a few years earlier. Abby had been assigned to Joe’s SEAL team in Afghanistan. Over time, she had fallen in love with, and later married SEAL Joe Harrison. They were now the proud parents of twins who were two years old. She glanced toward the living room where the men were sitting and talking, beers in hand. The SEAL drink of choice.

“I’ll bet you’re plumb tuckered out from all the travel and the excitement?” Abby asked.

Sky nodded. “Just a little. But it’s nice to see Cal’s friends, too. He often talks about them, sometimes shares a story with me about an op. Now, I get to put faces to the names.”

Abby sighed. “You’d think these guys were still SEALs. Look at ’em,” and she laughed, pointing toward the group of men sitting, laughing, and telling stories amongst one another. They were like a pack of male alpha wolves, competing mercilessly with one another, a take-no-prisoners way of life for them.

“It’s good that they are together,” Sky murmured. “I don’t think you ever take the SEAL out of a man. It’s bred into their bones.”

“That’s for sure,” Abby said. “Joe stays in regular touch with his team, too. It’s a positive, healthy lifeline for all of them.”

“And then they have us.”

Abby laughed. “Well, if Cal hasn’t been sold on marrying you yet, Joe will set him straight. He’ll tell you it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to him.”
