"You know about the drive-by?" I ask again, conversationally.

"Fuck!" he screams, rocking side to side. "No!"

I shoot his other foot and he screams again, his voice cracking. Tears stream down his face and his blood mixes with the sand. I stand, my gun still casually aimed at him.

"You know anything?" I ask Archer's guy. He shakes his head, his eyes wide and injury forgotten. I slide my gun toward him and he screams.

"Wait!" he shouts as he lifts his hand. "Wait! Please! Wait!" I lift my brows impatiently.

"Waiting," I drawl. Archer gives me a look I choose to ignore.

"Heard some guys talking about it. They said they're trying to take out The Brotherhood and–"

"And?" I crouch again and rest my forearms on my knees. Even though his face has gone deathly pale, his eyes stay alert as they track me.

"They're trying to lure them out by attacking The Berserkers," he mumbles. I look up at Archer, and he takes a deep breath as he shoves his fingers through his hair, looking distressed.

"Anything else?" I ask, looking back at him.

"No," he says, sounding resigned. "I swear that's all I know." Groaning softly, I push to my feet again, my gun still aimed at him.

"Wait." Archer puts his hand on my forearm and I glance at him, my brow lifting. "We can’t just kill them."

"Why not?" I scoff. "They're Horsemen."

"They're just kids, man," he says, exasperated.

"They're Horsemen," I say again. He gives me a firm look and tightens his hold on my arm. With a long, drawn-out sigh, I tip my head back. "Call Otis and tell him we’re bringing in some strays."

"You're not gonna kill us?" the one I shot asks, sounding hopeful. I drop my head to look at him.

"Not yet, apparently," I sigh as I rub my forehead with the hand holding my gun. "Maybe later."

Spencer shoves my feet off his desk, and they fall heavily to the floor. I huff out a sarcastic laugh as I slouch further down in the chair.

“Are you even listening to me?” Spencer asks, glaring at me. I shrug and glance at Taz. He gives me a pointed look, barely shaking his head.

Don’t antagonize them—that’s what he’d told me before this meeting.

Like I’d ever antagonize anyone. It’s like he doesn’t even know me.

Archer clears his throat, and my grin falls. Fucker. The only reason I’m in here having to talk to Spencer is because of him. Because he couldn’t kill those Horsemen like a fucking man.We had to do the right thing.

Theright thingwould’ve been killing them and ridding the world of two more Horsemen.

“Of course, I’m listening,” I say. He pinches between his eyes, sighing loudly. Nessa and Arden glance at each other, a hidden smile on their faces. When Nessa looks back at me, I wink at her, making her face turn tomato-red. “The Horsemen fucks are in your kill room.”

“Did you get any information from them at all?” He lifts his eyes over my shoulder to look at Archer. He clears his throat again, and his boots grind against the old wood floor as he takes a step forward.

“Not really,” he admits. I tighten my arms over my chest, trying to hide a smug grin. We could’ve gotten information if he would’ve let me ride in the back of the van with them. I could’ve had fun the whole drive back to their compound, butno.

“You don’t have to come,” Taz says. Spencer’s eyes shift to him.

“And leave my sister alone with you?”

“She doesn’t have to come either.” He shrugs like it doesn’t matter either way, but his shoulders tense. He’s had a thing for Arden for years. She’s a cute girl, but quiet. I don’t know why he’s so hung up on her, honestly. Apart from being able to drink any man under the table, she stays mostly to herself.
