I know they’ve had their moments, but no matter how often I tell him to just move on, he can’t. I’ve been punched in the face one too many times to continue suggesting it.

“We’re going,” Spencer says, his tone final. “You need the help, and the girls will make things…easier.” He grits the word out, and I know it’s because he doesn’t want his girl or sister involved in this shit. And I understand it. I fucking agree with it.

If it wasn’t for Addie and Heather, the women would be totally out of this, as usual. At first, I was all for it. I thought we needed to change things up, but after knowing what those fucks did to them, I regret ever voting in their favor.

They should be protected, not put in the middle of this shit.

I’d never let Kennedy be involved in this.

Not that she’d fucking listen to me.

I scrub my hand over my face, trying to ignore the way my heart dips at the thought of her. When we got back to The Crossroads, she wouldn’t look at me. She wouldn’t look at Archer either, though, which gave me the sickest sense of triumph.

“The Horsemen are targeting your club,” I say, drawing Spencer’s attention back to me. “They’re using you to get to us. We need–”

The door bangs open and Bash stalks in, kicking it shut behind him. I don’t have to look at him to feel the fury rippling off him in waves. He’s suffocating the room with it.

“What the fuck is going on?” he demands, ignoring Taz and I completely, and resting his fists on Spence’s desk. He leans forward, bringing them closer. The two presidents stare at each other for a long moment, the room growing even thicker with tension.

Taz and I glance at each other, ready to pull Bash away and protect him. It’s our duty. He’s our Prez—we protect him and Addie, and their future child, with our lives.

“That’s what I’m trying to figure out,” Spencer grinds out. “Could you please sit–”

“No,” Bash barks. “Fuck.” He shoves his fingers through his grown-out hair as he pushes off the desk. He begins pacing, his fist in front of his mouth, a deep crease between his brows.

“They’re targeting The Berserkers,” I say, and he slides his eyes to me.

“Did you take them out?” he asks. I don’t respond. I just stare back, and he huffs out a hard breath before turning toward Spence. “Did you give him the order to not kill Horsemen?” He sounds tired. The man needs a vacation.

“No,” Spencer grits. He doesn't like to be questioned, and it’s obvious he doesn’t play well with others. To be fair, neither does Bash. “It was a call made by my Road Captain, and I support it completely.”

I snort and all eyes turn to me.

“He was too scared to kill them,” I say. Bash’s shoulders rise and fall with another deep breath.

“I’m not too scared to kill you,” Archer says darkly.

I feel him looming over my shoulder, but if he thinks he has the upper hand, he’s wrong. I barely turn my head to look at him before laughing.

“Sure, okay. Whatever, fuckface.”

“Kiwi,” Taz hisses.

Right.

Don’t antagonize them.

“Anyway, we didn’t learn much,” I say, trying to hurry this along. “That’s about it. I’m sure they’ll target you again. Be prepared.” Spencer stares at me, the muscle in his jaw feathering.

“I can tell my guys to hang out here,” Bash says. Spencer waves him off.

“My guys can handle their own,” he says.

“Can they protect the bar and the people in it?” I ask. Both presidents look at me. “What?”

“The people in it are Brothers,” Spencer says slowly.

“Kennedy?”
