She pouts at me. “I want to touch you too.”

“We have all the time in the world for that,” I tell her as I unfasten my belt and free my dick from my pants. “But I like you strung up like this. Today I want to take.” I emphasize my words by lifting her and thrusting into her in one smooth motion.

She cries out, the sweet sound and the way she clenches around me is almost enough to make me come instantly. I move hard and fast, gripping her legs around me as she wraps them around my waist.

All of my emotions pour out of me with each piston of my hips. I can feel where my piercing drags along the inside of her, getting her to where I need her to be all the faster. I keep the brutal pace, taking out every ounce of my impatience on her body. I’ve held back all night and it all comes pouring out of me at once.

I use my finger to collect some of her come and start spreading it down to her ass. As soon as I get there she moans and tightens around me. I gently work my finger in, slowly stretching her out until I can match the pace of my finger to my thrusts.

It makes her feel so much tighter around me. I curse at just how good she feels. “Fuck, Scar. You’re a goddess.” Her delicate moans and whimpers spur me on, taking me higher with every hitch in her breath.

“Kade,” she cries out my name, a desperate plea in her voice just as I hit that spot inside of her, pushing her over the edge.

“Oh fuck,” I breathe out as I feel her spasms around me. I come a moment later, unable to hold back any longer as her entire body goes slack.

I pull my finger free and wrap my arms around her, cuddling her into my chest. She leans her head on my shoulder and I reach up to untie her hands. She immediately wraps them around my neck, keeping her legs tightly wrapped around me. I hug her to me.

“I love you, Scar.” I can feel her smile against my skin as she snuggles more into me. I chuckle and run my hand down her hair. We stay like that for a moment before I pull us away from the wall…and the dead body…

I ease Scar back to her feet and stare at where Taylor still hangs. I trade looks with her and tilt my head to the side and lift my brows. “Mikey and Ronan?”

She cackles but immediately agrees. This is a basement in one of her safe houses, so it’s not like we are worried about anyone stumbling across the scene. I examine her as she stands there, completely naked, a red bloody handprint smeared over her throat. I hold her shirt in my hand and wince.

I grab mine off the floor and pull it over her head. “We should probably take the tunnels home.”

Her eyes linger on my chest and she nods as she uses her finger to swirl the blood across my chest. “Probably our best bet.”

I rubthe backof my neck as I check my phone again. A nervous tick that no matter how many times Scar tries to correct, I can’t seem to train myself not to do it.

It’s been hours since Scar called Kade about a spy working for Romano. I knew as soon as he left with a savage grin on his face that they were going to be gone awhile. I know damn well I have no reason to be so worried about either of them, I just can’t seem to stop myself.

Everything has been too quiet. Too easy since I came back.

It makes me nervous every time Scar isn’t in my line of sight. No matter how confident I am in her ability to hold her own, I know that Romano has to be planning something. He’s biding his time to make a move and I hate the churning feeling in my gut that tells me when he does make his move, it will be big.

I force my eyes away from the blank screen of my phone and throw myself back into digging up as much information as I can into Rachel’s past.

The bomb she dropped has been enough to shake all of us for the last couple weeks. Enough so that Jade has basically acted as if none of it is happening. Not that I can blame her. When she first woke up, all she wanted was answers that we didn’t have for her.

After that, she trusted Scar to get it done. To tell her when there was something that she needed to know. She hasn’t pushed it since. Only talking about Rachel when Scar is the one to bring her up. Scar tries not to do it often, only to confirm small details here and there.

I look through the pages and pages of details I’ve dug up on her, trying to find any holes in the story Alec gave us but have come up with nothing. To be a hundred percent honest, everything I’ve found indicates Rachel is in fact Jade’s sister. Even my gut agrees that we should be able to trust her.

Scar is still as reticent as ever to admit it though. Not that I blame her. Jade is like a little sister to all of us. Someone who has been hurt far more than anyone deserves. She spent years being abused and lost much more than can be put into words. It’s something I can’t even begin to understand.

I spend another hour throwing myself into figuring out this situation and desperately trying to avoid looking at my phone. I stop going through my Rachel file and start running through the software Scar has running on Romano and his associates.

It’s the way they found me and I know it was a lucky break that the timing worked out. But maybe luck will be on our side again. We just have to keep checking. Every day. Just be prepared to find any little slip up that he or any of his men make.

I hear the door to the tunnels open behind me and Scar’s voice washes over me before I even have the chance to turn around. My entire body relaxes as relief floods my system. I’m not sure when, or ever, I will get used to the constant presence of danger in our midst.

“Find anything?”

“Not yet,” I call out as I run my eyes along his bank statements so I don’t lose my place.

“I was planning on bringing it up to Jade at training tomorrow.”

“Really?” Kade asks. “Tomorrow?”
