Page 9 of Vicious Chaos

“You were supposed to,” she taunts before rushing towards the stairs that lead downstairs.

I shake my head. I may have just invited a headache for myself. I might have serious regrets over that call, but Scar needs a little chaos after this week. It’s been a long one, full of digging into Rachel and Jade’s pasts and searching through our intel on Romano. A lot of lead chasing with not a lot of pay off. She’s starting to go a little crazy.

Maybe a dose of Dare is exactly what my girl needs. As long as Dare remembers her place. I don’t care if she does have tits and vagina. That doesn’t stop the little green monster that lives inside me. Even if that does make me a possessive asshole.

The smile that lights up Scar’s face when she sees Dare is worth the risk of a headache. Worth the messes I know will inevitably come. Whenever those two get together, trouble always follows.

They don’t waste any time falling into the beat of the song blasting over the speaker. Their bodies gelling together as they move closer in perfect synchronization. You’d think they had rehearsed this, the way they move together. I know they haven’t. It comes from years of knowing each other, of dancing together, of stirring shit up in this very club.

It doesn’t take long for them to draw the notice of the crowd around them. I can’t even be upset about it. They make quite the picture. Not only because they both are gorgeous in their own rights. Similar heights and body types, but where Letty is lithe and toned with dark hair and more inked up skin than not, Dare is soft, feminine in a deceptively fragile looking way. Her blonde hair hangs straight down her back with light, unmarred skin on display.

It’s not even just their looks that draws attention to them. They are our two best dancers for a reason. And they know it. Every single move, no matter how simple, is eye-catching. They’re elegant and sensual.

It’s hard not to watch them.

More than one guy tries to pull them apart to dance with one or the other, not that either of them are interested. Scar knows she can dance with whoever she wants. I’m not that much of an asshole. I’m secure enough to know that she’s a dancer through and through.

Sometimes she needs this. As long as no one has wandering hands, I can handle her dancing with as many men or women as she wants. It’s not what she needs tonight though. I can tell, even from here, the comfort she finds in dancing with Dare.

For having five boyfriends, you’d think at least one of us would be a good dancer but not a single one of us holds a candle to Scar. She’s far out of our league when it comes to that.

We may all dance with her, Kade even enjoys dancing as much as she does. But none of us can give her what Dare is giving her right now. The joy of dancing with someone who is as good as you are.

I finish my drink but wave off the new girl when she offers to pour me another one. I should get to my office and start on some of the work I need to get done before the meetings I have planned for tonight. I just can’t seem to draw my eyes away from my girl.

She looks more carefree than I’ve seen her since we went to the fights that night. So much happened all at once, it feels like we still haven’t settled into our new normal. Declan and Noah being officially brought on. Her solidifying her relationships with Ryder and Declan. Finding out about Rachel. Declaring war. Britt discovering some of our darker secrets. It’s been a nightmare trying to get everyone on the same page.

It’s almost too much for me to process, so how can I expect Scar to be doing okay with everything? There hasn’t been any time to slow down. I take for granted how strong she is. I need to make more of an effort to give her moments like this. Small breaks amidst the havoc that is our lives.

One of the guys that has been lurking around the girls starts moving in closer. I watch and wait for him to try and fail at pulling one or the other into his arms, but he doesn’t do that at all. Instead, he moves directly behind Scar and attempts to dance with her without pulling her away from Dare.

I can see the way Dare laughs in his face from here and moves Scar away from him. I can picture the smirk that graces Letty’s face at her friend’s move even without being able to clearly see it from here.

The guy must be an idiot though, because he doesn’t stop there. He continues to try and pursue my girl. My irritation rises as I watch the persistent fucker try to gain my girl’s attention, regardless of how many times he gets shot down.

Irritation is quick to turn to fury when he lets his hands wander over her ass. Dare is right there shoving him away from her. I know Scar is more than capable of taking care of the situation on her own, but I have a feeling she’s getting a kick out of watching Dare’s aggressive side. It isn’t often we see it. That fragile looking appearance is all an act. She’s all fire and ash under that soft facade of hers.

The guy starts to back off, raising his hands in apology. Scar shrugs him off, ready to start dancing with Dare again but the guy is still talking to her. I can see the way Dare huffs from here but waves him off. He heads straight to the bar and I cock my head as I watch him.

I flick my eyes back to the girls to find them back to dancing in a different spot now. Forgetting about the creep that couldn’t take no for an answer. I grab my walkie talkie from behind the bar.

“Did you see that?” I ask after turning it to the channel that only Adam should be on.

“Yes, sir. He’s ordering two drinks at the bar now. I believe in apology,” he answers immediately.

I look back to the girls, but they don’t look like they are waiting for him. I have a bad feeling about him. I make up my mind quickly. “Watch him first but intervene before he gets to the girls. Send him up the back way to my office.” I don’t want people to see him coming into my office when he may not make it back out.

I didn’t like the way he touched my girl, but I detest the way he didn’t listen when she said no. We don’t want that type of trash in this club. He may make it out with just a warning. He may not. Guess we will find out.

“He just slipped something into both drinks.” Adam’s voice comes out from the walkie talkie. I straighten my jacket out as I stand.

Guess we have our answer.

“Office. Now.”

“Oh,”I drawback sarcastically. “Is that what we are doing now?” I drop my eyes down to the unmoving body behind Luca’s desk. He thought he could get away with this little move without me noticing. Idiot. “Just needlessly killing anyone who touches what isn’t theirs?”

Luca grins down at me and I have to admit, I’ve never seen this side of him before. He’s kept it tightly under wraps and buried in the very recesses of his soul. Never letting me even get a glimpse of it, that is, until I claimed him. Until I broke the chains that tied this side down and let him wreak havoc on the world. He grips my chin tightly, his eyes wide with a manic energy I never would have associated with Luca before this. His smirk is full of possessive asshole insanity. “I’ve waited far too long to claim you to just let any dumb fuck live after touching what’s mine.”
