She prepared dinner and while we ate, she said “Ava is not in her room.”

“Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it. She’s out with her dad. He took her to a park.”

“She must have had the time of her life today,” Vivian said and we both laughed.

“I’m sorry I’ve been so swamped with work; I haven’t even asked how you are handling all of this? Leon coming into the picture and being around Ava.” She said and I sighed.

“It’s not been bad at all. He is not a difficult person. Our schedules were quite easy to work around and we had a mutual understanding. It’s working out well.”

“I’m glad it is. I’m really happy Leon didn’t want to do anything funny.”

“I would have fought him with the last drop of my blood,” I said and Vivian laughed. She looked exhausted and could barely finish her dinner.

“OK; I’m going to bed. Goodnight sweetie.” She said to me and hugged me before going to her room. I finished with my own food, cleared the table and did the dishes while waiting for Leon to return home with Ava. There was a knock on the door just then and I went to open it to find him carrying a sleeping Ava in his hands. I let him in and he carefully put her down in her room. While he was leaving, I didn’t know what came over me but I invited him in for coffee and he accepted.

While he sat on the couch, taking momentary sips from his mug of coffee, I went into my room and returned with a photo album containing pictures from when Ava was younger. His face broke into a smile when he flipped the first page and realized what it was. I sat beside him on the couch as we went through the pictures together.

He looked content as his eyes ran all over the pictures. “I didn’t even know people still had print photos.”

“I bought a small camera before I had Ava. Then during my final weeks of pregnancy, I learned how to use it, and learned how to do the whole photography processing. Those were fun times,” I said, smiling to myself.

“I’m glad you learned those because now, we have pictures of baby Ava to hold instead of just on devices.”

“I know, right,” I said, looking in his eyes. He held my gaze for a few seconds before he looked back to the album in his hands. He stroked the pages with his long fingers as he studied each picture carefully. I’d never seen him pay this much attention to anything.

He looked up at me to find that my eyes were still on him, a little smile appeared on his lips before he went back to the pictures. Warmth spread inside of me at his smile. I wanted to reach out and touch his hand, guiding it back to my skin.

To distract myself from the thoughts that were beginning to creep in, I shook my head and took another sip of my tea. Leon took a sip from his coffee as well but his eyes didn’t leave the pages of the album. My eyes were scanning the sitting room, looking for something to distract me from looking at him when I heard him say,

“How much longer do you want us to play this?” he asked before looking up at me, his eyes were dark. My breath caught in my chest at his look.

“Play what?”

“Me, looking at these pictures and you, sitting there, staring at me.”

I shook my head slightly, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

He closed the album and put it by his side. Then he turned his body to face me, our faces were only inches apart now and I had started breathing hard at being that close to him. Leon’s presence still had a strong hold on me.

“You really don’t know what I’m talking about?” he asked with the deepest tone of his voice. Blood started rushing to the area between my thighs.

I started to shake my head and then switched to nodding. My mind wasn’t cooperating with my body any longer.

Leon leaned in, closing the little space between us and kissed my lips. I could taste the coffee he was just drinking and coupled with the scent of his cologne, I felt knots of excitement form in the pit of my belly.

I was beginning to lean into the kiss when he moved back to study my face. His eyes lingered on my lips before they rested on my eyes. I wasn’t sure what he was looking for in my eyes but the eye contact was so hot. He leaned back in for the kiss and this time it was different. It was like the eye contact unleashed something he had been holding in for a while.

The kiss was intense and hungry. His tongue worked mine in a needy manner. I felt my insides melt into a puddle at the way he kissed me. Leon was hungry for me and I for him. I sat up and straddled him on the chair, digging my fingers into his dark hair.

His hands wrapped around my waist pushing me closer to him. The feel of his body against mine was driving me insane. His hands were running over my back and my waist started a slow rhythmic movement over his already growing erection.

I tugged at his hair and at the same time, I felt his hands press tighter into my body like he was holding on for his dear life. He slipped his hands underneath my top and I felt the hooks of my bra come undone. I pulled the top up over my head and threw it to his side, it landed on top the photo album he was looking at earlier.

Hurriedly, I took off the bra and threw it at the same spot my top landed. He was at eye level with my breasts and my nipples were hard, eager for his touch. Leon looked at them for a few seconds as if trying to take a screenshot with his mind before he started placing light kisses on them. He cupped my right breast with his hands and put the nipple in his mouth.

The sucking went from one nipple to the next, building my arousal. A moan escaped me and I covered my mouth with my arm. Leon and I exchanged looks before giggling quietly. I whispered into his ears,

“We have to be quiet. Vivian and Ava are sleeping.”
