“Oh yes, I have something to do.”

“Alright. Have a good day then.”

“You too. Don’t forget to lock up everywhere before you leave,” I said and he nodded.

I drove to a nearby clothes store to get a dress but I had no idea what to buy. The dresses looked good, but I wasn’t sure they’d look good on me. I took out my phone to call the only person I knew with a great sense of style, Vivian.

“Hello, sweetie,” she said.

“Are you really busy?”

“I have some work. What’s going on?”

“I have a fashion emergency and your input is needed.”

She laughed, “How important of an emergency is this?”

“I have a date tomorrow.”

“Text me your address, I’ll be there soon.”

I got off the phone and texted her the address. It was awkward for me to just stand in the store when I wasn’t getting anything, so I stepped out to wait in my car. About twenty minutes after waiting, I saw Vivian’s car park in front of mine.

I descended and went to meet her. “Thank you for coming.”

“It’s nothing. What are you doing here?” she asked, pointing at the store.

“It’s close to the gallery and I thought I’d find something nice here.”

“Did you?”

“I saw a couple; I just didn’t know if they’d look nice on me.”

She shook her head. “Get in your car, we’re going to a better place.”

I got in and she drove ahead of me to a mall that had only designer stores. What was going through Vivian’s mind right now?

We got down and walked into the first Dior store we saw. The entire store smelled and looked very expensive. A woman from the desk to the left of the store walked over to us.

“Welcome.” Her tone sounded very pretentious.

“Thank you,” Vivian responded. “We’re here to see if we can get my sister anything for her date.”

“Will you be needing help with a style or size?”

“Not yet. Let’s have a look around first.” Vivian said to the lady who nodded and returned behind the table.

As we walked to the dress section, Vivian asked, “Is your date someone I know?”

I gave her a knowing look. “You know exactly who it is.”

“You and Leon are still going strong I see. I didn’t know that you guys had fixed things,” she said, rolling her eyes.

I laughed. “Come on Viv, how long do you want to be mad at him about the DNA test thing?”

“I wonder why you’re not mad. He indirectly called you dishonest.”

“He apologized.”
