Melinda watches me spellbound as I plop a final ball ofmishuinto her mouth. “Go on, I’m fascinated. What happened next?”

“The new colony, called Sarax, grew and became prosperous, but there were some dissident voices that said the lessons of the past had not been learned. We were consuming resources at an alarming rate and polluting this new planet just as much as we did our old one. Some people grew so disillusioned with what was going on, that a plan was hatched to take a group of us and start our own colony, this time on the hotter but habitable planet. There was much antagonism towards that idea from the authorities and many attempts to shut down this plan. In the end, a brave group of people fought a battle, liberating three spaceships and escaping Sarax with limited supplies to start a new life somewhere else.”

“Your ancestors that came here, to Krovatia?”

“Yes, that is correct. My great-great-grandfather was one of them. Very early on in the colony, we established a charter with clear rules setting out our values. We would respect the environment of our new home and live in harmony with it and each other. We would cut our ties with Sarax and not allow their pernicious influence to sully this new project of ours. In fact, we would protect ourselves from all outside influences and focus on making a sustainable life for us and our children on this planet.”

“So that’s why you didn’t allow foreigners on Krovatian soil.”

“Yes, that is the root cause of it. However, over time we developed trading relationships with some friendly planets, so we did not totally cut ourselves off from the outside world. We did insist though, that such trade take place in neutral territory outside our planet, and all efforts were made to protect our way of life. While we undertook explorations of our new home, we discovered a repository of pink crystals which we decided to investigate and research. It was in the course of these investigations that we discovered the potent effect of boral crystals on us. We were able to enter into trances and read each other’s auras for the very first time. And we also noticed that a select few of our people were able to go beyond simply reading the auras but also to manipulate them. Our ancestors decided to form a priestly body of people with such skills, naming them sicors. It was their task to ensure that evil thoughts, of the type that destroyed our former worlds, would not thrive here.”

“And they appointed a sicortar to lead them?”

“Yes, the tradition became that the most powerful of the sicors would be afforded the title of sicortar.”

“This explains a lot. Thank you for telling me. So, this means the Saraxians who attacked Ven last year were your kin.”

“I do not think of them as my kin. Genetically, they are the same people as us, but in all other respects, we diverge greatly.”

“I can understand that.”

Our meal ended, it is time for us to depart, but I am strangely reluctant to do so. I have enjoyed this Earth female’s company. “Melinda, will you do me the honor of dining with me again, perhaps next rotation?”

She pins me with fierce brown eyes. “In what capacity would we be dining together?”

“Melinda, you know quite well it would not be in an official capacity. I wish to conduct a romantic liaison with you. I believe you are attracted to me too, and this ex-mate of yours is out of the picture, is he not?”

She hesitates. “We are divorced, yes, though we still care for each other greatly.”

“But you are free to pursue a new relationship.”

She purses her lips. “Yes, though perhaps it’s you who isn’t.”

I raise my brows at this. “How so?”

“The females I have seen with you—drashas you call them. They are there to service your sexual needs?”

“Yes, that is right. A sicor has sexual needs that exceed those of the ordinary person. It is right and fitting that we have drashas to help us with this.”

“And you have fathered many children with them.”

“Yes, you have met them. I still do not see the problem.”

She casts me an annoyed glance. “It doesn’t seem to me that you are free. In human terms, that would make you spoken for.”

“It is true that I have not as a rule sought romantic liaisons outside my household. My drashas have fulfilled my sexual needs admirably, but that is all they do. I do not engage in intellectual conversations with them like I enjoy doing with you, nor do I romance them like I wish to do with you, beautiful, lovely Melinda. You enthrall me. Let me assure you, I live in my own quarters in the house and do not share my bed with anyone. I am free to be with you for however long our liaison lasts before we mutually end it, wishing each other peace and joy.”

My tail flaps about then comes to rest in her lap. Without thinking, she begins stroking it. “I—I’m flattered, sicortar.”

“Call me Kirimor.”

“Kirimor, I’m flattered and I can see from your perspective that you think it’s fine to both romance me and have sex with your drashas. But that’s something that I as a human find very hard to accept. Even if this is a short term thing between us, I do not share.”

“You would not be sharing me, my lovely. When we are together, you have my full and utmost attention, but of course I must do my work, and that necessitates that I fuck my drashas in the temple.”

She shudders at this. “Oh God. Even you saying that makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I’m sorry Kirimor, but I cannot contemplate pursuing a relationship with you.”

I sniff the air. “And yet your cunt weeps for me. I can scent your arousal, Melinda. You are alone here, with no male to sate your physical needs. Why deprive yourself of the untold pleasures I have in store for you?”
