“Of course, Mr. Vipera,” the stewardess says with a smile. “Shall I prepare anything for your guest?”

“Make her feel welcome, of course, when she arrives,” I reply, “but she’s not a guest. She’s a new employee.”

“Very good, sir,” Pauline says.

A moment later I have a very strong drink. It’s the equivalent of a quadruple order at a human bar. If I drink six of them, it will affect me the way a double might affect a purely human person. That’s as much as I’ll get affected, too. Dragons can’t get intoxicated by alcohol, a rather fitting example of the gift that is also a curse, I think wryly.

My phone chimes and I say, “In fact, Pauline, why not prepare some refreshments to serve after takeoff. I’ve just got word that she’s being escorted here now.”

“As you wish, Mr. Vipera,” Pauline says.

She leaves to prepare the refreshments, and I focus on the reason I’m hiring a new lawyer in the first place. As I mention earlier, our family fortune is obscenely large, large enough that if it were known, it could actually affect the economies of many of the nations where we hold resources. If the extent of the wealth that dragons as a species own were known, it could cause a global economic crisis.

So, we hire a team of people to help us manage our wealth in a way that is prudent and responsible not only for us but also for the world in general. We have accountants, lawyers, financial planners and bankers worldwide who work to ensure that our wealth is only as visible as it needs to be to accomplish what we intend to accomplish.

But even that small fraction of our wealth is enough to attract the attention of greedy and jealous people. My new lawyer’s job will be to ensure that when those people attempt to take what doesn’t belong to them that we can resolve the situation without resorting to violence.

If the world I paint seems unnecessarily violent or corrupt or selfish to you, I’ll only point out that dragons live in this world, we didn’t create it. We have leveraged our wisdom, strength and long lifespans to secure an enviable position in this world, but we don’t rule it. If you wish to blame someone for the state of global society, I humbly suggest that you point the finger at the species that despite being unremarkable on the surface has managed to establish itself as the preeminent species on Earth.

I sip my drink and wonder what this lawyer will be like. I know it’s a woman, and that initially concerns me. I have no trouble with female lawyers, but a homosexual man would concern me as much as a heterosexual woman. Dragons in general are irresistible to sexually compatible humans, and it will make it difficult for my lawyer to do her job if she and I can’t have a conversation without her mind wandering.

At least I don’t have to worry about my mind wandering. The moment I see Dana, my eyes belong only to her.

Still, this lawyer—Brooke, her name is—is clearly the most qualified of the applicants. She is among the least experienced, but her responses during the interview process indicate a scintillating mind and a level of shrewdness unmatched among any of the other lawyers I’ve met. Even my parents approve of my hiring her, and approval is hard to come by when you’re the oldest son of the King of Dragons.

The door to the jet opens, and I stand and smile. “Good afternoon,” I say to the young woman being led up the airstair into the cabin. “You must be…”

My voice trails off, and though I have excellent self-control, I imagine that my expression matches the shock I see on Brooke’s face.

“Dana,” I finish softly.

The woman from last night, the woman who captures my heart and fulfills all of my fantasies, stares at me and replies, “Tan?”

ChapterThree

Travel

Brooke

The Bombardier Global 7500 jet is one of the most advanced private jets in the world, featuring state-of-the-art technology and unmatched comfort. This business jet has a range of seven thousand seven hundred nautical miles, which means that it can fly virtually anywhere in the world without having to stop for refueling. I know this because when arrangements for my travel to Red Aerie are arranged, I’m told I will be on a private jet and, of course, I look it up because it’s kind of scary.

Of course, when I hear business jet, I think a dinky little thing that looks like a little Cessna with jet engines attached. I don’t think a plane that’s the size of an airliner. Researching the Bombardier helps because I learn that the plane actuallyisan airliner, or rather, there’s a regional airliner version of the same airplane. It’s not the massive flying building that something like a 747 or an A380 would be, but it’s much bigger than I expect it to be, and that’s a relief.

One of the most impressive things about the Global 7500 is its spacious cabin. The cabin is designed to provide ultimate comfort to passengers with features such as fully-reclining seats, adjustable lighting, and temperature controls. The jet also has a quiet cabin, thanks to its advanced noise reduction technology.

In terms of performance, the Global 7500 is powered by twin GE Passport 20 engines, which are some of the most efficient engines in existence. That, combined with its large size, is what allows the impressive range.

The cockpit of the Global 7500 is also packed with advanced technology, such as a heads-up display, touchscreen monitor, and synthetic vision system. This aircraft also features an advanced weather radar system that allows pilots to avoid bad weather and turbulence.

The general consensus online is that the Bombardier Global 7500 is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a luxurious and reliable private jet. Its combination of long-range capabilities, spacious cabin, advanced technology, and comfort makes it a top choice for businesses and individuals who require the best in private aviation.

I guess all of that is pretty relevant when you’re going to take a transcontinental flight in a plane that seems way too small for that, despite being comfortably larger than you might imagine. I guess it makes sense if you’re going to spend hours with your future boss and want to talk about your job duties and the like. I guess having a jet like the Global 7500 is a great idea for this kind of travel.

It certainly works for me kneeling in front of Aiden and sucking his cock.

Yeah, yeah. I know. Fucking idiotic, right? Well, the moment I step onto the plane, I see him and both of us have wide, crazy eyes. “Brooke? I thought your name was Dana.”

I kind of sheepishly say, “I didn’t lie, not exactly. Dana is my middle name. Do you work for Mr. Vipera?”
