“Bex…” Alex closed her eyes.

“I was only going to stay until I could get Stan’s truck over here later. We were going to try to get some of my stuff out of the backdoor of my place and bring it over here little by little.” Bexley kissed Alex’s collarbone, lowering her lips to between Alex’s breasts. “I’ve missed you,” she added.

“We’re leaving this house with rug burns, aren’t we?” Alex asked as Bexley reached for the button of her slacks.

“Definitely,” Bexley confirmed, sliding her hand inside them and cupping Alex.

“Fuck,” Alex said, closing her eyes at the unexpected touch.

“My turn to take whatIwant,” Bexley replied.

???

“So, you’re just leaving?” Stan asked.

“Not just,” Bexley said, taking Alex’s hand. “She’s staying for a few days. Then, we’ll fly back together.”

“What about the reporters?”

“There will be an official statement out tomorrow,” Alex said. “That will give us time to pack up Bexley’s stuff, and we’ll move into a hotel outside of town that security is confident we’ll be safe at.”

“You’re really going?” Stan asked, clearly looking disappointed. “I mean, I knew you’d move there eventually. I just thought we’d have more time.”

“I’ll be back. Grandma won’t come with me. So, I’ll come back as much as I can.”

“I know, but it won’t be the same.” Stan shrugged. “Both of my best friends are gone now.”

“Hey, I’m still here,” Bexley replied.

“For, like, three more days,” he argued.

“Stan, you’re more than welcome to stay with us anytime,” Alex offered. “We can even make a schedule if you’d like.”

“I have a growing empire to run, so I can’t just get away all the time, but we’ll see,” he said, winking. “I thought you’d be here until at least she put a ring on it.”

Alex cleared her throat.

“You okay there?” Bexley asked, laughing as she rubbed Alex’s back. “We thought we’d have more time before people started finding out, but while that’s the reason we’re leaving in a few days, it’s not the reason I want to be there as soon as I can.” She turned to Alex with a smile. “I miss her when I’m not with her.”

“You don’t have any gay men you know back home who might be interested in an American, do you?” Stan asked Alex.

“I know a lot of gay men. Some of them have wives, though,” she teased.

“I’m not picky,” he replied.

Bexley laughed. Alex looked at her and couldn’t believe this was actually happening. Bexley was moving to London. There would be no more weekend secret visits to Kansas for Alex or to London for Bexley. They wouldn’t have to try to squeeze everything they wanted to do into two or three days anymore.

“What?” Bexley asked, looking back at her.

“Nothing,” Alex replied.

“She was probably just thinking about you naked. It’s been like a month, right?” Stan joked.

“Actually, it’s been like an hour,” Bexley countered.

“Oh, Bex… In Grandma’s house?” Stan said, laughing.

Alex had to laugh at that one as well.
