Holly thought she was going to throw up. She heaved, then made Fyre heave. They both grabbed the cake and started to stuff their mouths with it, and soon all they could taste was chocolate frosting before they started to laugh again.

“You know what you need?” Fyre asked when they could breathe properly again.

“A lobotomy?”

“No, silly.”

“A new wardrobe. You’re going to the Bahamas. Your clothes shouldn’t weigh more than ten pounds for the duration.”

“Ten pounds? I have granny panties that weigh that much.”

“Exactly. We’re going shopping.”

“I like my granny panties.”

“We’re going shopping, and we’re going to find the skimpiest, sluttiest clothes ever, and then you’re going to get laid multiple times in that three-day window with a complete stranger you will never see again.”

“You think getting laid is the answer?”

“You’re a virgin. Getting laid is theonlyfreaking solution. Trust me.”

Chapter Three

I can do this.

She could do this. She was an independent, strong, and mostly mature young woman. All this nonsense with Kingston, Nolan, and Fletcher had to stop. But just in case it didn’t, she was properly armed with Fyre’s protective stones—double-duty ones too—so no sneaky shenanigans for her.

True to her word, Fyre had dragged her shopping, and yes, they had in fact found the skimpiest, sluttiest clothes money could buy, and Holly was not allowed to change her mind, so she had embraced every aspect of it. They had also gotten Brazilian waxes together, and that was a new experience for Holly.

It was good. She was twenty-five years old. Maybe black formal suit pants and blazers with shirts for work every day and track pants for the weekends didn’t scream fun, nor did trimming her own downstairs department hair, but she was learning, growing, and becoming the person she was meant to be. Not the person who had lusty dreams about her stepbrothers.

Looking at herself one more time in the mirror, she pursed her lips and then straightened her shoulders. While her clothes had gotten less, her makeup had gotten more, and she’d be lying if she said she didn’t like the new look. She looked cool, even if she had to say so herself.

You got this.

She nodded at herself once more, then rolled her bag out of the apartment.

Her flight took extralong, although luckily, except for the delay, it was uneventful otherwise. Caroline and Robbie had gone all out for their wedding and had sent personalized chauffeurs to pick up their guests from the airport. In a limousine, no less. They must have saved a fortune to have this kind of wedding.

The hotel calledRoyally Serenewas the epitome of luxury and lavishness. With white marble set against a green background of foliage, the five-star accommodation just screamed magnificence.

A symphony of chandeliers, glittering in the sunlight that streamed in from the floor-to-ceiling windows, immediately dazzled Holly as she entered the lobby. A fresh floral fragrance of tropical flowers lingered in the air as she walked to the reception, praying she didn’t fall over in her six-inch heels. Fyre’s idea.

The front desk receptionist, a majestically beautiful woman, offered Holly a bright smile that made her eyes twinkle.

“Ms. Weaver. Welcome to the Royally Serene Hotel and Spa.”

“You know my name,” Holly said unnecessarily, and then, out of nowhere, the pair of sunglasses she was carrying in her hand decided to take a dive to the floor. She bent to retrieve it, then belatedly remembered she was wearing a dress—a damn short one too. Not daring to turn around to see who she may have inadvertently flashed, she decided to brush the hiccup aside. Besides, she was in charge of her body now, and she was strong and beautiful, and it didn’t matter if she was the only one who felt that way. It was all about her from now on.

She shifted her attention back to the strikingly lovely Patricia. And, of course, they would know her name. The chauffeur at the airport knew who she was before she recognized her name on his poster.

“I do know your name. You’re an honored guest, Ms. Weaver, and we’re so happy to have you. We hope your stay will be everything you want it to be.”

Caroline and Robbie certainly knew how to treat their wedding guests.

“Thank you, Patricia. I’m hoping my stay will be everything I want it to be, as well.” Feeling suddenly revitalized, the idea of having a three-day fling with a handsome stranger was getting more and more appealing. Fyre was never wrong about such things. Besides, Holly had no idea why she was holding on to her virginity. For what? More to the point, for whom? Nope, it was time she parted ways with her virginity.

Patricia gave her a beautiful smile in return before she clicked away at her laptop.
