“I need to get back soon.” He let out a sigh. “Even I can’t run for three hours.”

“We can kill two birds with one stone. I’ll get in with you.” She was getting a taste for getting wet with him after their weekend away.

He reached out to cup her face. “How did I get so lucky to find you?”

“I’ve been here all along. Just waiting.”

His eyes crinkled. “You didn’t even know I existed.”

“I knew. In here.” She touched her heart. “I knew I was waiting for something. I just didn’t know it was you.”

“I’m glad I’m here now,” he said, his voice low.

“Me too.” She reached for his shirt, pulling it off. “Now get in there, handsome. All this talking is wasting time.”

“Talking to you never seems like a waste.” He did as he was told, stripping down and stepping into her shower. She thanked the gods that it was a double-length walk in that they both fit into easily.

By the time she’d taken her own clothes off, he was under the spray. Steam filled the cubicle, making everything look hazy. He reached for her, pulling her against him, kissing the crown of her head.

“I missed you. How is it that things only make sense when you’re in my arms?” He reached for the shower gel, but she took it from him.

She needed to touch him. To reconnect.

Squeezing the gel into her palm, she lathered it onto his chest, her fingers tracing the lines of his muscles.

“I have to go to London.”

Grace looked up at him. “Okay.”

“Tomorrow. For business. That’s why I wanted to see you tonight. It’s my last chance for a week.”

A week. She tried not to look sad, but she’d hardly survived a day without him.

She squeezed another dollop of gel onto her palm, rubbing his back, his hips, his ass.

“I’ve found somebody who might be interested in buying the business,” he told her.

“Already?” She smiled. “That was fast.”

“I have a guy who’s a partner in the business. Only owns twenty percent right now, but he has the funds to buy the whole thing. I want to strike while the iron’s hot. If we can agree on a price and I can hand things over to him, then it feels like the right thing to do.”

She looked up at him, blinking.

“Are you sure? It’s all happened so fast.”

“I’ve been looking for you for a year. It feels slow.” He cupped her face. “And truth be told, I’ve been thinking about selling for a while. I guess coming here for a few months was my way of thinking about things. Plus, my partner is my ex-wife’s brother. It’s been awkward as hell for a while.”

“Eek.” She wrinkled her nose. “I didn’t know that.”

“It’s not a problem. We rarely mix in the same circles. But it’s a tie to the past I don’t need.”

“What if you regret it?”

“Selling the business?”

“Yeah. What if everything goes wrong between us and you wish you could leave again?”

He took her hands in his and moved them to his lips, kissing each one.
