“I know.” I nod at Sadie, not sure what else to say. Amy is indeed a bitch for this, but what can I do? I watch as Sadie types away on her phone, laser-focused. Nissa shovels another bite of ice cream into her mouth, moaning obscenely.

I blink at her as she practically makes love to the spoon. When she catches me glaring, she winks. I can’t help but laugh. Sadie punches the air, pulling my attention back to her. She curses under her breath, before looking up at Nissa and me.

“I have good news, and I have better news. Which do you want first?” Sadie grins like the cat that caught the canary. Seriously, she looks the way I imagine the coyote would if he ever caught the roadrunner.

“Good news first?” I shrug.

“The good news is that Griff and Fallon are headed this way with takeout. I ordered us a feast.” Sadie bites her lip, looking far too smug for a moment like this. “The better news is that Amy Jane has a pattern of very unbecoming behavior.” When her grin turns downright devilish, I shiver. “Especially for a girl with a lot to lose.”

“You scare me,” I whisper as Sadie practically vibrates with excitement.

“Agreed.” Nissa nods, and the three of us laugh.

“No wonder you’re not intimidated by Fallon,” I add, and Sadie scoffs.

“Fallon is a softie,” Sadie says, waving off my comment. I share a look with Nissa.

“Riiiight,” Nissa and I say in unison.

“Amy.” Sadie grins, looking down at the petite woman with a very frightening grin. Nissa locks our arms together as we stand behind Sadie, our boss-ass bitch.

“What the fuck do you–”

“Amy Jane, age twenty-one, born in Las Vegas, Nevada, on February thirteenth, to Amy and Matthew Jane.” Sadie pauses. “Your mom named you after herself? Hmm.”

“What the hell are you doing!” Amy demands, reaching for Sadie’s phone, but Sadie snatches it away too quickly for Amy to reach it.

“Does the Dean know you have a record? What about your coaches? You want to be a cheerleader for the NFL, right? What would they say if they knew you lit your ex’s car on fire and Daddy paid to cover it up?” Sadie lifts a brow, and my mouth falls open.

“No shit?” I ask, and Sadie nods, not taking her eyes off Amy.

“He was still in the car too,” Sadie adds, and I gasp.

“Shut the fuck up, Sadie!” Amy snarls, but Sadie scoffs.

“What about this here? It says you were never charged for something else. You drugged your babysitter? What the fuck…” Sadie frowns. “You need help…”

“He was only three years older than me! And I didn’t touch him! They dropped the charges!” Amy cries, and Sadie shakes her head slowly. Nissa leans into me, and whispers.

“How does Sadie know all this?” Nissa pauses. “Are you also a little turned on right now?”

I can’t contain the yelp of laughter, and Sadie looks over her shoulder at Nissa and winks.

“You kinky bitch,” Sadie teases, blowing a kiss at Nissa, who pretends to catch it and then swoons. “Here’s what's going to happen, Amy. You’re going to leave Holden alone, and you’re going to stay the fuck away from Rose. You’re also going to see a psychologist because yikes…”

“Bitch!” Amy screams, and Sadie just stares Amy down. When Amy finally stops screaming, Sadie continues.

“If I see you so much as argue with anyone else at this school, I hand this info over to your coaches. You might not get kicked out, but you’ll never find yourself cheering for a professional team, which would be a shame because you’re actually very talented.” Sadie’s compliment clearly throws Amy off because she gives Sadie this look like she’s the crazy one.

“You think so?” Amy asks softly, and Sadie grins at her.

“Duh! I don’t lie to women. We have to stick together. You have the skills, and now you just need to focus all that erratic energy on the greater good, girl.” Sadie shrugs, turns to Nissa and me, and pulls us away.

Amy’s left standing there stunned, and I can’t blame her. I, too, am stunned by Sadie.

“Marry me?” I beg, turning back to Sadie as she locks our arms and drags us away.
