“Maybe a little. I can’t feel my feet.”

I start giggling and can’t seem to stop.

Once they have all the goodies stacked on the kitchen island, Sara-Beth turns to us.

“I drove them home because they both drank quite a bit, and of course, Anna is feeling the effects of the pot brownies. We left their cars at Leona’s for the night. Can you take her and Kaela home on your way, Weston?”

“I got them,” I reply.

“Thanks, Mom,” Graham says.

“No trouble,” she says.

She stops in front of Anna on her way to the door. “Leona will pick you and Kaela up on her way to the campground tomorrow afternoon. Bring a basket for the egg hunt.”

“I will,” Anna confirms.

“I should get going too. I’ll walk you out, Mom,” Langford says as he stands.

“If it’s okay with you guys, I’ll let Tucker stay. He and Caleb fell asleep about an hour ago.”

“Absolutely. We’ll take him to the campground with us in the morning,” Taeli says.

“Thanks. Good night, everybody,” he calls and then takes Mom by the arm and leads her out the door.

“You guys are welcome to stay the night here. I can get the guest room downstairs ready in a few minutes,” Taeli says.

Weston gives her a curious look. “Thanks for the offer, but I don’t think Anna wants to share the guest room with me.”

“I mean, she and the baby can have the guest room, and you and Morris can have the couch,” Taeli stammers.

“I appreciate it, but I think I’d like to sleep in my own bed tonight,” I answer.

Weston looks down at me. “Me too. I’ll take you two home, and then I’m gonna crash in my bed. It’s been a long week.”

“Awesome. That means the guest room is open. I’ll stay,” Morris chimes.

I scoot down onto the floor and bundle Kaela up, but Weston insists on carrying her to the truck. Graham walks out with us, and he and Weston discuss working at the farm tomorrow. He doesn’t usually work on Saturday, but to be done by Easter, he’s putting in extra days.

“I’ll be there after dropping Taeli and the boys with Mom,” Graham says.

“Thanks, bro. See you tomorrow.”

Graham goes back inside, and Weston clicks his remote to unlock the doors of the truck.

“Climb in and turn the heat on. I’ll load Baby Duck.”

I do as he said, and the warm air blasts into the cab as he clicks Kaela into her seat. I bring my knees up and twist in the seat so I can take her tiny hand in mine as Weston climbs in.

“You’re adorable,” I coo.

“Thank you,” he quips.

“I was talking to Kaela.”

He grins, and my heart skips.

I release her hand, and I take my finger and dip it into the dimple that appeared on his cheek.
