“Hey now, little ears. Big mouth. Watch your language.”

He rolls his eyes. “She doesn’t know what I’m saying.”

“Oh, yes, she does. She’s already repeating things.”

“No shit?”

Kaela pushes at my hand and squeals, “Sit!”

“Oh man,” Langford mumbles.

“Oh manis right. I’m the one whose ass Anna is gonna kick if her daughter comes home cursing like a sailor.”

She looks up at me and grins. “Ass.”

Langford roars with laughter.

I stand and hand the baby to him. Then, I grip his shoulder. “I’m happy for you and Isley.”

“Shh, we haven’t told Tucker yet,” he whispers.

“You haven’t told Tucker what?” Graham asks as he joins us.

“That he’s gonna be a big brother,” I whisper.

“No shit? Congrats, brother,” he tells Langford.

Another baby Tuttle. The family is growing.

Exciting.

Morris arrives, and Tucker and Caleb join the rest of the men to watch the game.

Anna

Sara-Beth and Leona outdo themselves.

They turn Leona’s backyard into a whimsical garden party. Complete with Chinese lanterns and strung patio lights.

We spend the evening sipping wine, eating finger sandwiches, and celebrating as Taeli opens a slew of gifts. Consisting mainly of exquisite lingerie, as she and Graham had refused to register anywhere because, according to her, they already have everything they need.

But Leona had insisted that she have a bridal shower anyway.

Apparently, they weren’t on the best of terms when Taeli married her first husband, so Leona is taking this opportunity for a do-over and making every happy memory she can with her daughter.

After the party, Sara-Beth drives us back to Taeli’s house, and we find Graham, Langford, Morris, and Weston huddled in front of the television, eating chicken wings and watching a ball game.

Kaela is in her pajamas, sleeping on her blanket at Weston’s feet.

Graham helps Sara-Beth and Taeli unload the packages from her car, and I take a seat beside Weston.

“How did she do?” I ask.

“Great. She ate like a champ and hung with us until the seventh inning. How was the party? You look tired.”

“So much fun. We ate and drank and danced and laughed. I accidentally got into the special brownies Leona had made,” I say as I lay my head back against the leather.

He chuckles. “So, not tired, just high.”
