Breaking from the kiss, he slid the straps to my dress up my arms and back to my shoulders.

"We should head back before I fuck you right here."

My gaze flicked to the edge of the boardwalk, but Maverick and the blonde were already gone. Christian tangled his fingers into mine, and we returned to the beach house.

Chapter 29

Christian

Every year our house held the annual last-day pool party. Everyone from the Valley celebrated the last official day of spring break, even though we still had Saturday and Sunday before returning to school. It was our last day at the beach. Everyone was close to trashed from partying all day already before the nighttime bash even started.

Sitting on the pool's edge, I watched Harper and Chloe gossiping at the other end. They had no doubt discussed every dirty detail about the week's event, and I couldn't help but smile when the thought of last night crept into my mind.

My phone vibrated in my hand.

Alexi - I need to talk to you.

I didn't answer, instead hitting the side button and declining. My phone vibrated again.

Alexi - It's important. It's about Harper and Noah.

She had my attention.

Christian - Meet me at my house on the third-floor terrace.

I didn't want to go, but Alexi hung out with the Villa Boy sometimes, and if she knew or heard something, I needed to know so that I could protect Harper.

Christian - On my way.

Harper was consumed with Chloe, so I didn't bother her. I'd be back before she knew I was gone.

"What is it, Alexi?" I asked, annoyance in my tone when I made it to the terrace. Alexi stayed in the house next to mine. I had a clear view of the party from her terrace.

"I could suck your dick first," she purred, tracing her fingertips down my torso to the waistband of my bathing suit.

"Alexi," I warned, wrapping my fingers around her wrist and stopping her.

"Okay, fine," she groaned, snatching her wrist out of my grip.

"You said this was about Harper," I growled. "Is it or not?" I leaned over the railing on my forearms.

"Can't blame a girl for trying." She shrugged.

"Alexi," I hissed.

"Fine. So, you know, sometimes I run around with Mason?" I nodded. "Well, I met him at a party and overheard them talking about Harper." I nodded, urging her to continue. "They said she was already spoken for."

"What does that mean?" I narrowed my eyes.

"I don't know exactly," she shook her head. "But I got the feeling it would be something against her will."

"Do they know where she is?"

"No, they don't know she's here at the beach, and they don't know she's staying with you. They know she hangs out with you, but they think she's staying with Chloe or maybe even Ryder."

I leaned further over the third-floor terrace from Alexi's beach house and down to the pool behind my beach house. Chloe, Harper, and Aiden sat on the pool's edge, laughing about something.

This put them in danger.
