Reaching for my phone, I sent a group text.

Christian - URGENT! Meet me at the beach house now. 3rd-floor terrace.

Don't say anything to anyone.

"I appreciate you letting me know," I said dismissively, twisting to face her.

"You know we could still be friends," Alexi purred, placing the palm of her hand on my chest.

"I don't think you would ever be satisfied with just friends, Alexi."

"I meant with benefits," she whispered against my lips, sliding her arms around my waist. I'd never in my life turned down easy pussy, but Alexi wasn't who I wanted. For the first time in my life, I only wanted one girl, Harper, and I didn't want to do anything that would screw it up.

I shoved her out of my personal space before saying, "No."

"What's up?" Maverick asked, pushing through the double doors to the terrace.

"I'll let you boys chat," Alexi said, disappearing into the house.

I filled them in on all the details I had.

"Wait," Aiden said.

"That means Chloe's place will be the first place they hit."

"If they do anything at all," Link interjected. "They could be all talk."

"Well, I'm not willing to bet Chloe's life on that," Aiden stated.

"I agree," I said. "They are pissed right now. Not only because we have Harper but because of what happened the night of prom."

"What do we do?" Sebastian asked.

"We let everyone enjoy their last night out here. Then, tomorrow after we're loaded, we come up with a plan together." They all nodded in agreement.

Chapter 30

Harper

I kicked the cool blue water with my feet and laughed at Chloe's corny jokes. The sun had set hours ago, and the entire Valley was partying around the pool, celebrating their last night of Spring Break.

"How often do you come here for Spring Break?" I asked Chloe.

"I used to come with my parents when I was a kid, but when they stopped, so did I."

"So, you've never come out here with the rest of the Valley kids?"

She shook her head. "No, I've never really fit in with any of them, but I have to admit this has been fun."

She was right. It had been more fun than I'd had in a long time. I'd been worried that the Valley wouldn't accept me, and I still wasn't completely convinced they had, but no one was treating me any differently than anyone else. Of course, that could be out of fear. No one wanted to stand toe-to-toe with Christian.

Aiden sank onto the concrete pool deck on the opposite side of Chloe. "What are you two chatting about?"

"Do you really want to know?" Chloe laughed. "You might be embarrassed."

"Well, now you have to tell me."

Chloe and Aiden fell into their own conversation, and my gaze flicked around the pool deck. "Where's Christian?" I muttered mostly to myself because no one else was listening. Sebastian and Lincoln were still in the same spot where Christian had been. Pushing off the deck and hopping to my feet.
