I swat him on the arm. “It’s freezing.”

“You know I have ways to warm you up, Em.”

“I thought we were going skating.”

“We can still do that.”

I shove him again. “We can get in trouble for doing things like that in public.”

“You have tinted windows,” he points out.

We have been playing catch up with sex for the past few months since getting back together. He’s insatiable and I love his appetite for it.

We have fit perfectly back together, in new and exciting ways, and I love how he talks dirty to me, and does things he never did before. I think he’s pretty smug over the whole G-spot thing.

I only saw Doug one more time after I first returned back from Florida, when we both signed off on the sale of the house, and everything was finalized.

Taylor and I plan to buy a place down in Florida at the end of the season and have a holiday home there. We may even move back there permanently once his career is over. Mom and dad have said they would move to a warmer climate in a heartbeat.

I often just sit and imagine it, with our future kids running up the beach, and swimming in the waves. Taylor wants a whole tribe of them, but I’d be happy with two. God willing, we’ve both agreed that we would have more than one child.

We know we have time for that, and just want to enjoy time together with just the two of us for a while. We never had any doubts after that night at the stadium. He took me home, made love to me, and we’ve never looked back since.

Coming together again like this is the happiest I’ve ever been in my life, and I can’t wait for whatever the future holds. As long as I’m with him, it doesn’t matter.

Taylor

“Are you thinking about it?” I ask, breaking whatever reverie she’s in.I hope she’s up for a quickie, I love being spontaneous with her.

She laughs. “I was thinking about the night you won the cup.”

“Fuck, that was a great night.” My face lights up just thinking about it.

It’s something that neither of us will ever forget.

“So, are you going to let me have my way with you here at our favorite spot, or not?”

I laugh, knowing I’m being cheeky with him.

“After a skate,” she says. “And I’m not getting fully naked. It's too cold!”

I laugh again. “Hey, what are heaters for? Plus, I’m warm blooded, remember?”

She rolls her eyes at me as we both get out of the car.

She says she hasn’t skated in years, and she seems pretty nervous, kinda like all of those years ago. I’m sure she can still do it. We walk along the lakes edge to the rink.

I know she’s thinking about that too when we get inside and sit on the bench, tying our skates on.

“Seems like yesterday, doesn’t it?” I say, fastening my skates up.

“Oh, it does.” She laughs. “I hope I can still do it.”

“It’ll be fine… just keep your eyes on me, remember? I won’t let you fall.”

They’re the same words I used all those years ago, when we were kids and I taught her how to skate. She takes my hand, just like she did back then, and when she looks up at me, I see the trust in her eyes.

I’ll never regret a single second with her. Everything has just gotten better and better over the months.
