Blaze doesn’t respond. His next combination of punches hit their mark. As the fight continues, it becomes apparent Blaze is the more impressive fighter. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t take some hits.

His opponent is struggling to keep up, his movements becoming slower and more labored. Blaze moves with a fluid grace, his punches landing with force and accuracy. Devil keeps trying to taunt Blaze but nothing works until he strikes a nerve.

“I saw the bitch you walked in here with. She looks like she would be feisty in bed. Can’t wait to take her for a ride after I knock you unconscious.”

Blaze loses his mind. He tackles the man to the ground, roaring in his face.

The demon uses his wings to launch Blaze off him with power, knocking them both to the ground with the demon on top. The claws in his wings rake down Blaze’s chest.

My dragon’s roar makes my ears ring as he throws Devil off him. His own claws unsheathe right before he runs them through the demon’s side, sending blood everywhere.

I step back into Griffyn when a wall of fire erupts around the demon, giving him a second to recover. Devil elevates everything by bringing his fire into the mix.

Blaze’s laugh starts low and builds in intensity. It’s deep and throaty, with malice in every second of it. I’ve never heard Blaze laugh and this doesn’t count. It’s a scary, threatening sound, not one of joy. The laugh echoes off the walls as he steps right through the wall of fire.

My body locks up as I watch him go.

“He’s a dragon. He’s made of fire,” Aksel explains with a wicked glint in his eyes.

“He’ll take care of him. That kind of disrespect needs to be punished,” Felix says.

When the wall of fire disappears, a naked Blaze is pounding the face of the demon.

The crowd erupts into a frenzy of cheers and anger as it becomes obvious Blaze is the winner.

Blaze doesn’t stop. There’s no hesitation as he pounds on the demon until there’s a puddle of blood under him.

“Go stop him,” I say, pushing Felix that way.

He only hesitates a second before moving over there.

“He’s down Blaze.”

No response.

“He’s no longer a threat,” Felix tries again.

Felix glances back at me.

“Go see Anna.”

That gets him moving. Blaze pulls away from him and straight to me. He jumps off the platform, pulls me into his body, and kisses the hell out of me. Sweat is pouring down his face and body and he’s covered in blood. Both his and the demon’s. His body radiates heat against my skin.

I can taste that distinct flavor of mate in his blood as we kiss. Fuck, we really are mates. It sends even more adrenaline pumping through me.

The kiss is deep and sensual, with each of us exploring the other’s mouth with their tongue. Blaze tugs me close, our bodies pressing together in a tight embrace.

I can’t ignore the fact that he’s naked as his erection digs into me. The outline against me is huge. Bigger than I think I could handle.

Blaze picks me up with one hand as he moves away from the ring.

“Blaze!” Aksel shouts, but Blaze ignores him.

He opens up a door and steps inside, pinning me to the door, holding me up with one hand while the other brushes against my thighs. I have no idea where we are and I don’t care when Blaze is paying me this much attention.

He grips my skin, tugging me tighter against him.

“You smell fucking intoxicating,” he groans, running his nose up my neck.
