When we get back in the car Griffyn’s grin spells trouble.

“How was it?” He asks, wiggling his eyebrows and breaking the tension.

“Are you kidding? Didn’t you hear her scream, it had to be incredible,” Felix says laughing.

Blaze doesn’t say a word. I blush like crazy.

“Are you fucking joking about this right now?” Aksel asks, outraged.

“It happened. Won’t happen again. Move on,” Blaze grunts.

I lean back in my seat as everyone listens to Blaze’s command.

“The weaver will be here in ten minutes. That’s all the warning I got,” Blaze says the morning after the fight.

I still haven’t gotten a chance to talk to him or process the fact that we are mates.

“Fuck, that’s quick. How are we handling this?” Felix asks.

“We can’t have Rion locked in the basement. It’s too suspicious,” I say.

“Agreed,” Griffyn says.

“So we bring him up and tell the weaver he’s a friend,” Felix says.

“What about a disguise charm?” Blaze asks.

“The weaver could sense it and that makes things more suspicious. We need to pretend this is just our friend and we don’t know why he has this spell on him, but we want it gone.” Aksel cracks his knuckles.

“It should only be Griffyn and I. No need to let the weaver see more than he needs to,” Blaze says.

“Agreed. You two execute the plan as discussed while Felix, Anna, and I wait in the kitchen in case anything goes wrong,” Aksel says.

I’m shocked Aksel is relinquishing control like this.

“Let’s get him cleaned up with the time we have left,” I suggest.

I move towards the door and a begrudging Aksel gets up behind me. We both go downstairs.

“Rion, we have the weaver coming soon.” I step towards his chains but realize I can’t undo them.

“You need to shower and change so it’s not obvious you’re a prisoner. We are trying not to raise their suspicion and hopefully, they forget about it. It’s our best idea considering the weaver would undo any magical enchantments we use. You make one wrong move and I end you. So don’t fuck this up.” Aksel steps forward and releases Rion.

The vampire stretches out his arms and slowly stands up. His eyes are warily fixed on Aksel who gestures that Rion should go first.

Aksel immediately steps between us and follows him up. Rion’s movements are slow and jerky as he goes.

“Let’s go.” Aksel makes him go all the way up to the bedrooms.

I stay behind.

“Felix, do we have blood? Rion is weak which means he’s hungry,” I ask.

Felix nods, grabs a bag of blood out of the fridge, and heads upstairs.
