Thomas grinned. “I told her that too.”

“I can’t,” Rose said. “Too much going on. I won’t be able to concentrate. Has the holiday flow kicked in yet? I know it will before Thanksgiving, which is why I want to make sure I’m back.”

“Everything will get out on time,” she said. “Thanksgiving isn’t even six weeks for you. I thought you were taking two months?” Daisy knew she was getting on Thomas’s good side saying that.

“No more talk about work,” Thomas said. Colin started to fuss. “I’ll just take my little guy into the other room and rock him. He’s not ready to eat yet, right, Rose?”

“No. He ate about thirty minutes ago.”

She watched Thomas pick up his son and leave the family room and go into his bedroom.

“No work talk,” Daisy said. “We don’t want to get your husband upset.”

“I can handle him,” Rose said. “He’s over the moon right now and distracted.”

“As he should be,” she said. “How about you?”

“I am too,” Rose said. “It’s hard to believe that little boy was inside of me and the love I feel for him.”

She felt her eyes get a little misty. Rose was normally the hard one, but to see this soft side of her boss was sweet.

“You’re very lucky,” she said.

“I am,” Rose said. “Speaking of lucky. I hear you are too.”

She wanted to growl but didn’t. She should have figured Poppy couldn’t keep it quiet. “I knew Poppy would say something.”

“What?” Rose asked. “What does Poppy know that I don’t know?”

“What did you mean by your comment about me being lucky?”

“Ivy said you’re so busy at work with custom orders that you’re too tired to go out with her. Dahlia has no desire to go out either. I was talking about that. I know you’re downplaying how busy you are so you don’t get me worried. But if Poppy knows something, that means it’s a guy.”

“I went out with Ivy a few weeks ago,” she argued.

Theo had to work and she couldn’t keep pushing Ivy off. Then everyone would get suspicious. Luke was working and Heather went too. It’s not like anyone was looking for a man, but Ivy did have wandering eyes.

“Ivy’s young yet and looking for something she can’t seem to find. She’d go out every night if she could. And since my husband said no work talk, you need to tell me what my sister knows that I don’t. She never keeps secrets so I could get it out of her.”

Daisy sighed. “That’s mean.”

“It is,” Rose said. “And fun. Tell me. I won’t tell anyone. I’m good. Colin might be the only one to hear and he’s not ready to talk yet.”

She supposed it wouldn’t hurt to tell her boss. Though Rose wasn’t as outgoing and friendly as Poppy and Lily, she tended to be with Daisy. They had a lot in common and she understood Rose’s need to not get wrapped up in drama and other people’s issues.

“Fine,” she said. “I’m dating someone, but no one knows.”

“Not even Heather?” Rose asked.

“No,” she said.

“Why?”

“Poppy doesn’t know who it is, but I can tell you. If Poppy knew, she’d say something for sure. It’s Heather’s surgeon. Theo James.”

Rose started to laugh. “Oh my. Now I know why you don’t want anyone to know.”

“Why?” she asked.
