"You know, you don't have to do this. You being here is dangerous. What if the guards wake up?"

"I have time. Besides, I'm counting on you getting better so you can help me escape."

"I'll help you out as much as physically possible."

"That's good to know."

She rubs more ointment into my shoulders, and my cock gets thicker. Damn, these bars. How much more suffering must I endure before I get to feel some sort of pleasure, some sort of relief?

"Maybe you can thank me now by telling me what you were before you ended up in this cage?" she asks, curiosity evident in her voice.

I hesitate, tempted to reveal everything to her, but I can't take that risk.

"It's a story for another time. Once we're out of here."

"You're such a tease," she says, poking my side playfully. "Can I tell you about me, then?"

"Be my guest," I say, even though I'm sure what she's about to tell me.

"Well, I used to be a writer. I was on my second book just before I was abducted."

"What did you write?"

"Romance, the hot type."

"Oh, I see."

That might explain her sexual manner.

"Yeah, and I was doing well. I love to write. I love expressing myself through my writing."

"Writing is a curious thing."

"Did you write too?"

"From time to time."

"What genre? I bet you were non-fiction."

"I can't say."

"Spoilsport. Well, you'll probably understand me when I say I write to inspire people. Once we get out of here, I'll reach the lives of thousands of people with my words. That's my dream."

"We all have to dream," I say, remembering my writing business. I want to open up and tell her I feel the same, that I'd already changed the lives of readers and writers. But I can't, or that will be the end.

"We do. That's why we must escape and get to Planet Sefl. There is no wicked ruler, no one to dictate what we must do. I can write all I want, without restraints, without anyone watching over me."

I turn around and face her.

"You miss it, don't you?" I ask softly.

She nods, a hint of sadness in her eyes.

"More than anything. Writing was my escape, my way to dream and be free."

"Dreams are important but useless if you don't move towards them. Even if it's just one step a day."

"That's funny," she says, frowning.
