“I’m sure they’ll shift back before your dad shows up …” I start, not sure at all and even less sure once the doorbell rings. “Okay. Well, they’ll shift back at some point.”

I check on Austin who’s being his usual charming perfect baby self, napping peacefully in his wolf form.

Parker is about to go answer the door, when we hear the inner door opening, and Dante calling out, “Our visitor is here!”

Parker’s eyes widen. “He’s here.”

“And it’s going to be a perfectly normal …”

Asher interrupts me with a loud, rumbling growl.

“Okay, it’s going to be weird, but it’ll also be fine. I promise, Parker. He’ll love them.”

I pick up Asher and hand him over to his dad, who he starts yipping at as if he’s a little dog.

“This is the apartment,” Sean is saying now, making it obvious Mr. Jameson senior, is in the building.

Parker leaves the room after taking a deep breath. I pick up Austin, and he gives a sleepy yawn as he snuggles in my arms. I come out after Parker, and we greet his dad with our furry bundles of joy.

The older man instantly falls in love with them, because everyone does.

Who wouldn’t? They’re our babies, and they’re the sweetest, cutest little guys who ever lived.

If anyone says otherwise, they don’t know what they’re talking about.

When his dad’s visit is over, the babies have tired themselves out and are back in their cribs, and Parker is relieved. I’m not sure what he was worried about, but I’m happy he’s good now.

“Didn’t go so bad, did it?” I ask him as we stand in the boy’s doorway.

“It went good,” he says, hugging me close.

Dante joins the hug from behind. “Can I adopt him as my dad?”

Parker laughs. “I don’t think so. He might ask you to run drugs.”

“Damn. I had my heart set on being one of those shady cleaner types.”

Sean turns up at my other side and rests his head against mine.

“I think we need a metal crib for Ash,” he tells me.

“These were a gift from Silas. They’re beautiful.”

“Well, yeah, but that kid is chewing the wood to bits. He’s going to make a successful escape attempt, and it’s going to be soon.”

I shake my head, but he’d probably right.

“Soon, but not tonight,” I tell him.

We have better things to think about tonight.

Like getting started on making our boys a set of siblings.

“Yeah,” Dante says, with a soft sigh, as if he knows what I’m thinking. “Not tonight.”
