“She wouldn’t have left the apartment without her phone.”

“Something’s wrong,” Parker agrees, frowning.

Sean stalks over to the window. He stares out into the street, looking around carefully. He moves back into the bedroom and comes back out a minute later dressed in yesterday’s clothes.

He grabs his boots off the floor by the bedroom door and sits down at the table to put them on.

I throw my T-shirt on and take a second to untangle the legs of my jeans before I step into them.

“Dante, can you cast one of those locator spells?” Sean asks. “Find out where she is?”

Why the hell didn’t I think of that?I nod, clearing the table with a sweep of my arm and imposing a map of the area onto the surface of the wood.

Parker comes over and stands next to me, his arms crossed.

I close my eyes to help me concentrate.

I can feel their worry and it only amplifies my own.

Thinking of Amanda, I ask Freya and Artemis both to help me locate our mate.

When I open my eyes, I see the light that indicates our mate hovering over our apartment in the Wolf Creek area, blinking on and off.

“What does that mean?” Parker asks.

“It means our apartment is the last place she was seen on this map. I need to extend the search area. The table isn’t big enough. I need … Help me move the table. I’ll use the floor.”

Parker and Sean move the table to the side of the couch. We grab the chairs and put them on top of it, getting them out of the way quickly. The books and bag, I push into the kitchen area.

Once the floor’s clear, I start fresh.

The thought of teleporting straight to Amanda crosses my mind, and I’m seriously tempted to just take off to where she is, wherever that might be. I know Sean and Parker wouldn’t like it if I disappeared with no explanation, and I know it could be dangerous.

I also know if this map gets us no-where, I won’t be able to help myself.

I need to know that my mate is safe. Being with her is the best way to ensure that.

Her flashing light stays where it is, blinking.

“You’re sure about what that light means?” Parker asks.

“A flashing light indicates the last place someone was seen,” I confirm, not liking what it means.

“Why isn’t it showing you where she went?” Sean asks.

“Because wherever she is, it’s not on this map.”

“That doesn’t make sense,” Parker growls.

“Keep extending the map,” Sean says. “She has to be somewhere.”

“I want to teleport directly to where she is,” I admit.

“You think you can do that?” Sean asks.

“It’s always worked before.”

“Try it. Parker, call Rachel. I’m calling Danny.”
