Rachel stands back up. “It’s an interesting idea.”

“I don’t think that’s where she is,” Cheryl says, as she gets up.

“Do you have another idea?” I ask her.

She nods. “The dream realm. I’ve been doing some reading on it ever since my Omega was wrongfully accused of murder. Spirits were able to enter his dreams. It turns out it’s fairly easy to access another person’s dreams and even influence what they look like. If he was asleep before, and he had to pass out to show someone else where she is, it makes sense that that’s where they’ve gone.”

“Holy fucking shit.” I blow out a breath.

“We need to find where she is in the real world,” Dante murmurs.

Cheryl nods. “We need to wake her up. The longer she spends in whatever reality he’s carved out for her, the harder it’ll be to convince her it was just a dream.”

“How do we do that? How do we find her?”

The light on the map is flashing like she’s still here, in the apartment.

It doesn’t make sense. Unless …

“Is there a way to check for invisibility spells?” I ask them, remembering that’s what Dante said the potions were in the witch’s bag they found in the woods. “Maybe she’s actually here and we just can’t tell?”

Rachel considers it. “There’s no live magic in the apartment.”

“Just traces from Jake, and the spell that took her away,” Cheryl adds.

“But we can search for magic,” Rachel says. “See what shows up on the map.”

“She’s definitely in Wolf Creek, right?” Cheryl asks, before she changes the map, so that the area only takes up half the floor.

They stand at either side of the map and join hands.

I force myself to be still when my foot starts to tap.

I need to be doing something useful.

Hopefully Amanda’s coven sisters will be able to provide me with a location to search out in a minute. If they can’t, I’ll have to start searching around town.

She’s in Wolf Creek. If I can get close to where she is, scent tracking will kick in.

The floor starts to light up with various arrays of glittering colors.

There’s a lot of magic being done in Wolf Creek, apparently.

“Okay,” Rachel says as she lets go of her friend’s hands. “What do we have?”

“Glamors all over,” Cheryl murmurs.

“What’s orange, again?” Rachel asks as she crouches down.

Cheryl looks up. “Um …”

“Orange is for healing.”

Everyone looks up at Sean’s bedroom door, where a witch with bright red hair is standing, looking down at the map. She’s in a black and white dress and she’s holding her shoes in one hand.

“Oh, this is Shannon,” Rachel tells me. “I think Dante found her bag in the woods?”

“Hey,” Shannon says, smiling awkwardly.
