“Yeah—three hours there and three back.” I confirmed.

“And don’t stop on the highway to help another man.” Carter smirked. “Because you stopped to help me and look what happened.”

The boys laughed.

I smiled and shook my head.

“Okay, boys. Go pack a little bag.” I told them. “Nothing heavy—maybe a book, video games—that sort of thing. Things to keep your entertained while we go.”

Eli and Dillon looked at each other then, darted toward the door as if they thought I’d change my mind.

Carter set his coffee mug down and eased me into his chest. He wrapped his arms tightly around me, pressed his face into my neck and inhaled loudly.

“You smell so good.” He sighed.

“Will you be okay while we’re gone?” I asked.

“Of course.” He stood back. “I’ll let Tex know you’re going and have him send someone down. Plus, I have Charlie. I could call him up and spend a day out—fishing or something. I have a feeling we all need the break before all hell breaks loose.”

“You mean getting Audrey?”

He nodded.

“Right now, I would very much like a little goodbye sex—”

I smacked his arm and looked toward the door.

“But I know you’re in a rush.” Carter sighed dramatically and dropped a chaste kiss to my lips. “How about a kiss and a grope to hold me over?”

I giggled, lifted his palms to my ass then kissed him deeply.

“Oh—one more.” He whispered.

Again, I kissed him.

“Um—tell us when we can open our eyes.” Eli called from the door.

Blushing, I rested my forehead to his shoulder.

Carter only laughed. “Get your stuff ready and I’ll see who Tex is sending to be my shadow, so we can drive you to your place to gather what you need.”

“I don’t need anything from home.” I promised. “But call Tex. I’ll leave my helmet here. Let me call Tilda and Levi.”

It took another hour and a half to get everything settled. I wasn’t going to leave Carter’s side until he had someone to replace me while I was gone. Wolf showed up with his lady and I could see why he was obsessed with her.

She was beautiful—natural hair, nothing but a sliver of lip gloss on her pouty lips and that body—sweet baby Jesus.

I’d do some sketchy things for a body like that.

“It’s lovely to meet you, Seema,” she said, shaking my hand. “The kids are with their God mother, and I was bored at home and wanted to spend some time with Wolf boy.”

Wolf grinned so big, it damn near swallowed his face.

He was proud of her—I could tell.

“It’s no trouble at all.” I assured her.

“Come on.” She grinned. “He brought the big SUV and I get to drive it. I parked in the back at the end of the laneway. Just in case someone is watching us that shouldn’t be.”
