“So okay with it.”

“Well.” Carter dropped a chaste kiss to my lips. “I stand corrected—A son who adores you and a very sexy boyfriend.”

“Egotistic.”

“I call it true.”

I smiled.

“My point is, you’re a strong, capable, beautiful woman.” Carter pointed out. “And you’re going to standup as the Goddess you are—no wait, you’remyGoddess and as such, you can burn this world down with a swish of your hips. You understand me?”

Dillon returned, wrung the cap off water bottle and sat beside me as he handed it to me.

“Stand up for yourself.” Carter continued. “And take your rightful place at my side.”

Weak, I pressed a palm to his cheek and met his gaze.

“My king.” My voice cracked.

“You understand now, right, Goddess?”

After a long drink of water, I kissed him softly.

“I understand now.”

I took a few more minutes to gather myself, then Dillon took my hand and pulled me back to my feet. The soles of my feet were sore, but I had one more thing I needed to do before I could ask Carter to take me home so I could soak them.

It was time I walked by his side as the—no—ashisGoddess.

I tangled my fingers with his, dropped a kiss to the side of Dillon’s head and allowed my two men to bring be back to the chaos of the party.

It didn’t take a long time for my father to find me. He hovered for a while, probably watching to see why I was there. As Carter dropped a warm palm to the small of my back, and walked me to a familiar face, I straightened my spine, and lifted my chin.

“Harold.” Carter extended a hand.

The man smiled warmly and hugged Carter instead.

“It’s been a while.” Harold Conrad replied. “How have you been?”

“Good—This is—”

“Seema Lipson.” Harold shook my hand then offered his card. .

He owned a major company that hired big rigs to haul inventory.

“I understand you now runWasp Transportation.” Harold stepped a little closer.

“I do.” I accepted the card.

“I’ve heard good things.” He nodded. “We should talk when you get a chance.”

Nodding, I smiled.

“I’ll give you a call.” I promised.

“Carter, you’re a lucky man.” The man told Carter before walking away.

My father pounced like a high school mean girl.
