Morgan mouthed, “I told you so.”
Blake breathed a sigh of relief, then said, “I have one more announcement to make. Remember when my friend and former mentor from Harvard said she had some colleagues at Columbia University? Well, they are going to try me out as an adjunct for one course in their graduate history department. And that works out perfectly because I don’t want to take on more than that with a new baby coming.”
“What is an achunk?” Ciara asked.
“It means I will teach part time at the school but won’t be committed to as much work as the regular faculty. So I’ll just commute into the city once or twice a week.” She turned to Morgan. “Which means I’ll make one of my nanny rooms into a study with a small library and the adjoining room into the nursery.”
“I want to help decorate the nursery,” Ciara said.
Morgan walked around the table to Blake and Ciara. “And I want to help you put your study together so I can hear more about the those ancient civilizations you love so much.”
He put his arms around both of them, and Blake’s heart glowed with the fire of everlasting love.
