“You have to read what’s on it, Daddy. It’s a Valentine for you and Blake.”

He picked up the cookie and teased Ciara, making believe he was going to gobble it down right away.

“Nooo!” Ciara shrieked at him, laughing as she swatted his arm. “Not until tomorrow.”

“But it looks so good,” Morgan said. “Can I have it now?”

“Nooo. You have wait.”

“Should I share it with Blake?”

“That is what you’re supposed to do, dummy. Because it has both of your initials on it. Now promise you won’t eat it when we’re not looking.”

“I promise,” he said and kissed Ciara on the forehead.

Blake had to blink back tears at the love she was so lucky to share in with these two.

Later that night as Blake lay in bed after Morgan exhausted her with an erotic workout, she whispered, “My period is really, really late.”

Morgan grinned. “Is it too early for one of those drug store tests?”

“No. In fact, I bought a few, but they bring back such horrible memories of when I was married and trying so hard to get pregnant and failing over and over, that I couldn’t do it.” She bit her lip. “You know I have chicken tendencies.”

“We’ll do it together,” he said. “I’ll be right here with you, okay? And no matter what the results are, remember I still see you as perfect in every way.”

Blake kissed his cheek, got out of bed, and went across the hall to her room. They spent most nights together, but Blake decided she would not move completely into Morgan’s bedroom until after their wedding. He wanted her to make her “nanny” rooms into an office and library for herself.

She brought the bag of tests into Morgan’s room and peed on one in his bathroom, then waited on the bed with him.

“I think it’s time,” he said.

“I’m afraid to look.”

“Want me to do it?”

“Let’s go check it together.”

He took her hand and they walked into the bathroom.

Blake gasped.

Morgan laughed. “Looks like you’ll have to give up one of your nanny rooms for a nursery. Looks like I was also right not to wait before hiring that mother’s helper.”

Blake was so stunned, she insisted on doing the test three more times, and each came out the same. After crying her eyes out in Morgan’s embrace, she said, “Marni loves the doctor who delivered baby Jack.”

“Call her tomorrow,” he said.

Blake nodded. “Good thing we decided on a March wedding. By the summer I would be waddling down the aisle.”

The next evening during the special Valentine dinner Blake made for them, Morgan caught Blake’s eye and nodded for her to go ahead with their plan.

“Ciara,” she said, “how would you feel about having a little brother or sister?”

Ciara, who was wearing a special Valentine’s Day jersey with pink and red hearts and deep red leggings, let out a squeal that nearly broke her eardrums.

“Guess that means you’ll be happy that I’m going to have a baby?”

“Yaaaay!” The small girl rushed over to Blake and gave her a long hug.
