They both took slow steps toward the bathroom. She had a roll of tissue paper in front of the tests, and he couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of it.
“You really didn’t want to look, huh?”
“I’m scared.”
“I got you, Baby.” Pushing the tissue away, Londen looked down at the tests.
He stared at it, blinking back tears.
“What does it say?” she asked, tugging his hand. “Are we pregnant?”
The laugh that Londen released was so happy and light, he’d never heard a sound like that come from himself. His head flung back as he palmed his face.
“Babe!”
“Yes,” he answered, licking his lips as he smiled. Her eyes watered as she stared into his.
“Yes?” Lei repeated.
He nodded. “Yes.”
“We’re pregnant?” Her voice was low and shaky as she squeezed his hand.
“We’re pregnant.”
Saying the words brought tears to his eyes. Lifting her into the air, Londen sat her on the sink counter as she squealed and sobbed.
“Oh my God. I’m really pregnant?”
“You are,” he confirmed, cupping her head and placing a kiss to the center of her forehead. He couldn’t resist lowering his hand to her stomach. Though she wasn’t showing at all, just knowing their baby was in the same room as them had his tears falling. “You are.”
“Londen,” she almost sang, hugging his neck tightly. “We’re really going to have a baby?”
Londen chuckled, unfazed by her disbelief. Shit, he was in disbelief too. This was definitely what he wanted, but he wasn’t expecting God to bless him to actually have it so soon.
“Wow,” he muttered, placing a kiss to her neck before chuckling.
Londen was so consumed by what he was leaving Memphis without, and now… he had a gift to take back home.

Back in Rose Valley Hills
“Um… what’s going on?”Lei asked at the sight of cars in her driveway.
“I had your mom to give my staff the key so they could put something together for you, for me.”
Her head shook in disbelief as she chuckled. “With everything that was going on in Memphis, you took the time to do something here for me?”
“I did. Let’s go.”
Lei didn’t have to be told twice. She was so excited she didn’t bother to wait for Keith to open her door. Londen looked on in pride and amusement as she rushed toward the front door. As excited as she was, she still waited for him to make his way to her side.
“Can I have a hint?”
“Nope. Just go inside and see.”
