“No idea.”

I lift the barbell and put it back on the barbell stand. He immediately sits up and cradles his chest. Walking around to him, I lift my leg and kick him square in the chest. He lands on the other side of his weight bench on the floor.

“I’m not the fucking boy you knew thirteen years ago. I’m your worst fucking nightmare. Tell me where she is.”

“I don’t know where she is. I haven’t seen my daughter in a decade.”

I laugh bitterly, “I saw you at my home drugging my fiancé’. Then you left with her over your shoulder. Try again.”

Grabbing him, I throw him on the weight bench, get the rope out of my bag with my foot on his chest, and tie his arms to the two ends of the barbell stand. I then tie his legs to the other side of the bench on the bottom.

“What the fuck are you doing, Hunter?”

I glare at him, “What I should’ve done three days ago. Until I find my girl, you will be right here.”

He tries to wiggle but he can’t. He’s stuck. His arms are stretched wide. I have no doubt it hurts. I don’t fucking care.

“I have to piss.”

I laugh, “That’s unfortunate for you. You won’t be released for the bathroom, food, nothing. Until I have her back this is where you stay.”

My phone rings, I fetch it from my pocket hoping it’s Max, it is.

“Hello?”

Stephen starts screaming, “Help! I’ve been kidnapped!”

Max chuckles, “Who is that?”

“Her father.”

I walk away from the annoying fucker, pacing, I rub the stubble on my face. “What do we know?”

Max sighs, “I need you to not lose your head. It’s important if he’s killed, it's in the basement, Hunter.”

“Right,” I respond, “What the fuck do you know, Max?”

He clears his throat, “Joey has her. She’s up for auction tomorrow.”

Bile rises in my throat. My heart shatters into a million fucking pieces.

Max says, “Are you there?”

“Hasn’t she been through enough?” I say in nearly a whisper.

He says, “Yeah man, she really has. I need you over here. I’ve called the others. We need a plan in place to get her back before she’s sold.”

I nod as if he can hear me, “I’m on my way.”

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

HUNTER

Iwanted to stay and kill her father. I have enough rage to kill an army of men. The only thing more important than vengeance, is getting Jade back safely. When I get to Max’s house, we’re all taken into his office.

“Hunter, Joey takes videos of the women and posts it on the dark web. Do you want to watch it alone?”

I shake my head, “No. Just play it.”
