Her chest rises and falls with heavy breaths as her gaze glares into mine, “Why not Trevor?”

I shake my head, “He would never kill me.”

Leaning my head down, I inhale her scent, then bite her neck, making her whimper, “I know you want coffee, baby girl. I want to force you to your knees so I can fuck that sassy little mouth, but we don’t have time. You’re not the only one that doesn’t get what they want.”

She whimpers again when I pull away and release her. Fuck, that might be my favorite sound. My cock is hard as a rock, throbbing in my jeans uncomfortably, “Let’s go Sassy girl.”

I take her hand and head out of the hotel room to meet the others at reception. We step into the elevator, and I press the button for the ground floor.

“Are you going after the men my dad sold me to?”

I glance at her, “Cameras, Sassy.”

She forms a perfect ‘O’ with her gorgeous mouth, and I chuckle, “We’ll talk about it on the plane.”

Jade opens her mouth to say something but then snaps it shut. I kiss her cheek, take her hand, and walk out of the elevator after the doors open.

Trevor and Mia exit the other elevator at the same time. Max looks at him, “Has the vehicle been swept?”

He nods, “All clear.”

Jade glances at me, “Swept?”

I whisper in her ear, “For bugs. Listening devices. Cameras.”

Once we getto the airport and board the plane, I notice Jade staring at me expectantly. My girl is not exactly patient. I put my arm around her as we sit waiting for takeoff. The second we are in the air and the flight attendant has taken her seat far from us, I turn to Jade, “Yes. We will be dismantling them, one man at a time. However, I’m not sure how involved I’ll be because I can’t stomach the thought of leaving you alone.”

Then she proves to me how different she is from Willow, “You can give me a gun or something, Hunter. You have to help them. They will need you.”

Leaning down, I kiss her on the head, “We’ll see, baby.”

She gazes at me, “I need to see him before they kill him.”

I can feel the clenching of my jaw as my molars grind together, “No.”

Jade pulls away from me with a glare on her face, “I want to know why.”

I laugh bitterly, “Does it really fucking matter?”

“It does to me,” she says in nearly a whisper.

“Fine,” I respond with a bite.

I don’t want that asshole in the same room with her. She’s pregnant and probably emotional. I don’t like risking him saying something that will upset her. If she wants one last conversation with her father, I don’t have a choice but to give her that. If I refuse, she may end up hating me once again. That’s a risk I can’t take. Generally, I’m a dominant man. This fiery redhead has wrapped me around her finger so tight I have a hard time telling her no.

CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR

JADE

Being back at home is wonderful. Home. I never would have imagined I’d consider this house my home. However, wherever Hunter is, is home. It’s not the structure or the land. It’s him. It always has been.

“Ready,” he asks, as he comes into the living room.

“Yes,” I sigh, as I turn off my Friends marathon I’ve been watching.

The last thing I want to do is ask my father why he could be so evil to not only offer me up to Craig but then hand me off to a new crop of monsters for cold hard cash. I know why he did it. Money. Still, I need to look him in the face and ask how he could do such a thing. Will I get the answers I need? Probably not. Regardless, this is something I need to do. Maybe it's the closure I’m after. I’m not sure.
