There weredefinite advantages to traveling with Liam. First-class seats on the flight from Boston to Miami, and now we had comfortable seats in the first-class lounge waiting for our next flight.

It had been cloudy when we left Boston. At least here it was warm and sunny.

Liam still wouldn't tell me our final destination. He had promised it would be relaxing, and I would enjoy it. Since we were in Miami waiting for our next flight, I figured it had to be somewhere in the Caribbean, or maybe South America. I had tried twenty questions again and gotten nowhere, even my hand stroking him under the coat he had lying on his lap hadn’t worked.

The alarm clock on Liam's phone went off with the snippet of “Sunny” he had set it to.

He checked the time, and double-checked it. “Okay, Sunshine. It's time for us to go.”

I gathered my things. “When will you tell me where we’re going?” I asked for the ninety-ninth time.

He kissed me quickly. “Not yet,” he replied for the fiftieth time. Half the time he ignored me.

We made our way to the gate, where I finally learned our destination.

I grabbed my man and gave him a wet kiss. “You spoil me.”

It was impossible to hide where we were going when the board said this flight would take us to Belize City. He deserved more than a kiss, but it would have to wait until we were alone.

He wrapped a possessive arm around me. “It's in my job description.”

I’d told him months ago that Belize was at the top of my list of places to visit. I had fallen in love with the pictures of the crystal clear water and the sea life of the world’s second-longest reef system, after the Great Barrier Reef.

The flight to Belize City was boring, but short. The fun part was the last leg.

Liam had booked us a place on Ambergris Caye, and the way to get there was a small turboprop puddlejumper to the city of San Pedro.

I got to ride up front next to the pilot, with all the gauges and the control wheel. Lucky for us, I was smart enough not to touch anything.

The view outside into the shallow waters was breathtaking as we approached the island in the low-flying plane.

A little minivan that passed for the local taxi got us quickly to the resort. Our condo was in a set of buildings two miles north of the city.

A lovely woman named Mirabella checked us in. “Your unit is in the second building on that side, on the second floor.” She pointed out the window to the right. “And this is the key to your golf cart, so you can get around the island.” She handed Liam the key.

I looked out toward the surf. A boat zoomed by going north at high speed.

“If you prefer,” Mirabella continued, “you can catch a water taxi off our pier. They can also get you into town, or up the coast to one of the restaurants.”

Water taxi sounded more fun to me than a dusty ride in a golf cart. I ventured outside, taking in the multiple pools and the beach while Liam took care of the logistics with Mirabella. This was truly a magical, out-of-the-way place and stunningly beautiful, even better than the online pictures. Mirabella had mentioned that Bill Gates’ compound was only a little farther up the island.

Once inside our unit, we unzipped our bags, and I started unpacking the clothes Liam had chosen for me. I hadn’t gotten a vote.

My tops went in the closet and the shorts in a drawer. The overhead fan was a welcome relief as I worked. I’d traveled in Boston-appropriate attire, not the shorts and sleeveless tops that made sense in the tropics.

When I got near the bottom of my suitcase, I found he’d chosen his favorite thongs, including the two sheer ones, a racer-back sports bra, and a few push-up bras as my only underwear choices.

Although I suggested a nap, Liam insisted we eat lunch by the pools.

I pulled on some shorts.

“Only swimsuits allowed by the pool,” Liam said, pulling his trunks on.

“They can’t have a rule like that.”

“My rule,” he told me with a wink. “They have a swim-up bar, and I plan on plying you with multiple adult beverages.”
