Page 18 of Lucky's Streak

Storm stares between us with a guarded look that gives nothing away. She’s my best friend, and usually, I can read her easily, but right now, I can’t. I’m sure she’s pissed at me for not telling her, and I haven’t spoken to her since I was kidnapped, then dealing with Lucky and everything else. Though in my defense, I haven’t had time. It’s been one thing after another. She’ll get it when I finally explain things to her.

“You okay?” I ask her, ignoring Lucky.

Storm brings her gaze back to me and nods. “Yeah, I’m fine. I should be the one asking you.”

“I’m good. Safe and sound and back home.” Again, I try to pull away from Lucky only to have him tighten his arm around me. Tilting my head to the side and up, I frown. “You can let me go.”

“And I can keep you at my side,” he retorts, glowering down at me.

“Brother, we gotta talk,” Blow announces, joining us in order to pull Storm in his arms and kissing the side of her neck, until she tilts for him to claim her mouth.

I can’t help but stare at the two of them. I used to be jealous of what they shared. It’s beautiful, and I wanted something like that of my own. I’d wanted it with Lucky, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that won’t ever happen. No matter what he says.

“When?” Lucky demands when Blow pulls back slightly from Storm though I notice as I always do that, he tucks her in his side, securing her to him.

“Now would be good. Then we can all get some damn rest,” Blow states.

“You won’t be getting any rest,” Storm speaks up, looking upward. “We have three babies who need to go to the doctor for checkups, and you need to help me.”

“I’ll help you, baby,” Blow grunts, his features softening.

When it comes to his woman and those babies, I’ve noticed this about him. His face gets a look that shows just how much they mean to him. I also know Blow will do anything and take on anyone who dares fuck with Storm or their children.

“Let’s get this done with,” Lucky says, releasing me.

Blow brings his attention back to our direction, looks to Lucky, and nods. He then turns his focus to me, eyes narrowed, and his jaw tightens.

Oh boy.

I can only guess as to what’s with that look.

“You’re coming with us,” he declares gruffly.

“What’s going on?” Storm demands.

“She can explain it to you later after we’re done with her,” Blow states sternly.

I swallow and don’t fight Lucky when he all but drags me toward the building. On the way in I notice the glares some of the men are giving me. The others simply keep quiet and don’t say a word, but I sense their anger.

Inside, Lucky takes me toward the room they all go to when they hold church.

I keep quiet, knowing whatever they’ve found, it has something to do with what the research I have been doing and what I’d intended to do before Driver called to tell me about my mom. Just my luck, my mom would have a heart attack right when I have plans to enter deeper into the Crimson Blood Clan. To make my way into the fold to get to the men the club really need.

I can only hope they didn’t figure out what I was up to, but knowing these men, I know they’re not stupid. Not by a long shot.

Lucky takes me to where I’m assuming he normally sits, sits down, and pulls me in his lap, securing me to him.

The rest of the members of the club enter the room, tension radiating off each of the them.

Once the door closes, Blow breaks through the tension. “Most of you already have heard what the fuck’s going on and what we’re doing here. . .”

There are several grumbles of agreement from those sitting around the table.

“What’s happening, Prez?” Shiner asks, bracing his elbows on the table.

Blow doesn’t answer him right away and looks at me.

“Chelsea, you know why you’re in here?”
