My cell rings, and it’s an undisclosed number.

I pick it up. “Hello?”

“I have your stepdaughter.”

My stomach drops, and I glare at my phone. “Alex,” I growl.

All my men stiffen, watching me.

“Where is she?”

He chuckles on the other end, and I put it on speaker so we can hear him. “She’s safe with me. I will marry her like I planned, even if you took her virginity.”

“If you touch a hair on her head, I swear to God—”

“What are you going to do? You have no idea where she is.”

I bite my inner cheek to stop the retort that wants to escape from my lips. We know exactly where he has her, but it’s good that he thinks we’re clueless. “What do you want?”

“I want you to give us Chicago territory.”

“Over my dead body!” I growl.

Who the fuck does this kid think he is?

I knew I should have dealt with Gregor Vishekov years ago when he and his men were nothing but a little gang. And Alex was in fucking diapers. Now they’re becoming a royal pain in my backside.

“Then your precious Ella will be fucked by every member of the Bratva before being sold into slavery for the rest of her pathetic life.”

Leo snatches the phone and shakes his head, knowing I don’t have a level enough head to respond. “We can arrange a meeting to discuss.” I want to tear the boy’s throat out for suggesting anyone other than me touch her.

“Which Morrone am I speaking to now?” he asks.

“Leo.”

“The black sheep of the family.”

Leo’s jaw clenches, but he doesn’t comment. “A meeting. Do you agree?”

“Yes, tomorrow evening in Seattle.”

I smirk, as this idiot has no idea we’re on to him. If he goes to Seattle tomorrow evening, we will break into his uncle’s home and steal Ella back.

“Done. Text a time and place, and we’ll be there,” I reply.

Alex chuckles. “I’m going to enjoy this.”

He ends the call, and all of us exchange glances.

“Is it a coincidence that he calls when we arrive in town?” Oleg questions, a skeptical look on his face.

“It’s a fucking blessing is what it is,” Frederico says, shaking his head. “It means he’ll be out of town while we break in.”

“I gotta admit, it’s convenient,” I say, drumming my fingers restlessly against the tabletop. However, it feels a little too easy to be honest.

Leo’s eyes are clouded with suspicion. “It seems a little too easy.”

Antoni clears his throat. “It’s still going to be difficult. The Egorov Mansion will be heavily guarded, and the absence of one man won’t make it that much easier.”
