It shouldn’t have shocked me that Mom married a mobster. She’s never really cared about anything but money, but marrying into a family of criminals is a step too far. When I questioned her about it, she shrugged it off and said at least he’s rich.

I return to Remy’s side and place the tumbler in his hand, turning to walk back to my chair. He grabs my wrist hard and yanks me back. “What the fuck is this?” He holds up the tumbler.

I frown. “Whiskey.”

“Yeah, half the fucking bottle. Do I look like an alcoholic to you?” His eyes narrow.

My honest answer would beyesbecause he’s an alcoholic. He drinks far too much. However, I shake my head. “I thought it would save more trips.”

“Getting up and down to get my drinks is good exercise for you. It’ll keep you fit and toned for your future husband.”

I glare at him. “I’ve no intention of getting married.” I’ve never dreamed about a big white wedding, like some girls do. I’d only get married if I was truly in love.

Luca laughs. “Good luck with that. You’re a Morrone now. Morrone women get married by arrangement.”

“I’m not a Morrone. My second name is Kelly and always will be.”

Remy’s hand tightens around my wrist, drawing my attention back to the fact he hasn’t let go yet. “No, you’re a Morrone. The moment your mom married me, you became one of us.”

“I’ll never be one of you because I don’t agree with what you do for a living.”

Remy’s grip on my wrist tightens further, and it’s starting to hurt. “Careful, Ella.” His tone is deep and full of warning. “You live under my roof, which means you must show me respect. I provide for you and your mother.”

I grit my teeth and try to pull my wrist out of his grasp, but he doesn’t let go. His eyes spark with dangerous rage, making my heart pound. The way he looks at me makes something illicit and taboo flutter to life between my thighs. It’s not the first time he’s been like this with me, but it’s the first time it’s happened in front of Luca and Leo.

Luca clears his throat. “Dad, let her go. You’re hurting her.”

Remy releases me, and I stumble back, rubbing my wrist.

“I wouldn’t hurt her if she didn’t talk back,” he says, his tone clipped. “I get so tired of her insolence.”

“Insolence?” I regret my tone instantly as those dark eyes find mine. “I got you a drink and poured you too much. How is that insolent?”

“Questioning me is insolent,” he replies, glaring at me. “But perhaps that’s because you want Daddy to put you over his knee and spank you.”

My stepbrothers laugh.

“Probably. She’s always looking at you like a horny teenager with a crush,” Luca says.

My entire body flames with heat. “No, I’m not,” I say, despite it being a lie, as Remy Morrone does something to me no other man has. He turns me into lava with every look or touch, and I hate it because he’s married to my mom for God’s sake. Not to mention he treats me like trash.

Even so, the thought of him spanking my bare ass while I call himDaddydoes something to me that no other fantasy can. I’m ashamed to admit the amount of times I’ve made myself come picturing him between my legs.

“She’s flushing bright red. Maybe it’s true,” Leo says, walking toward me. “Maybe we should all have a go at you and see who makes you come hardest.”

“Leo!” Remy shakes his head. “Don’t be disgusting. She’s your sister, now.”

“Stepsister,” he says, looking at me like he wants to feast on me. “Doesn’t count, does it?”

Remy’s eyes flash, and he stands, keeping his attention on his son when he says, “Go to your room, Ella.”

I can’t look him in the eye because my body is on fire, considering the turn this conversation took. “Okay.” I turn away, thankful for an escape.

Luca snickers as I walk past. “Try not to dream about the three of us fucking every one of your holes.”

I shudder at the thought, as Luca and Leo don’t appeal to me. Remy, on the other hand...

What the hell am I thinking?
