A dark shiver races down my spine. It’s unbelievable how this man can ignite my desire with one dirty sentence. One minute, I was too sore now I’m throbbing.

He gets out of the SUV and walks around to open my door. I’m about to jump out when he grabs me and lifts me into his arms.

“What are you doing?”

“I’m looking after my girl,” he breathes, carrying me into the cabin.

I’m ready for him to show me exactly what it means to be his all weekend. I hope it doesn’t end when this weekend does, as I think I’d never recover from losing Remy after a taste. He’s everything my life has been missing. Everything I’ve craved, even when it was taboo. And I think someone would have to stop my heart from beating to claw my hands off him.

REMY

Ihate that we’re back in Chicago, brought back to reality.

Ella and I have returned to our platonic stepdad and stepdaughter relationship out in the open, but it’s a different story at night. I clench my jaw as she has slept in my bed every night since we returned one week ago, and I’m still like a fucking horny teenager.

Thankfully, Luca is back at the academy. And Leo is rarely at the house, so we’ve not had to sneak around. Not that I think either of them would judge me. I’m pretty sure they both would have taken the chance to have her if she’d been interested.

I sit in the boardroom with my men as they present the evidence they’ve found against the Vishekov Bratva.

Massimo was right.

They wanted to divide my attention away from the true plan. The bastards are invading my territory, and I will fucking obliterate them for it.

“How did we not notice this?” I ask calmly.

Edoardo shakes his head. “They’ve been slowly encroaching on the territory, and our men on the ground didn’t come to us about it. Instead, they’ve been trying to deal with it, which hasn’t worked.”

“Idiots,” I reply, running a hand through my hair. “Get it sorted fast. I want all of Vishekov’s men out of Chicago before the day is through, got it?”

“Yes, sir,” Edoardo confirms.

“I want all four of you on it full-time until it’s handled. No other issues matter.”

Antoni, Giuseppe, and Frederico all nod in unison.

Edoardo clenches his jaw. “Agreed.”

“It makes sense now why the Vishekov Bratva wanted Ella’s marriage contract as leverage against us,” I add.

“Fucking Russians,” Massimo exclaims.

I agree with the sentiment entirely. I can’t stand them, and Camilla married one. I shudder at the thought.

“This might warrant a meeting with Spartak. If he knew another Bratva was trying to move into Chicago, he’d probably help squash them,” I suggest.

Massimo clears his throat. “Do we want to involve that psychopath?”

I meet his gaze. “You’re the one that brokered a deal with him originally. How would this be any different?”

His jaw clenches. “Because I had no choice. We were at war.”

Antoni nods. “He’s a live wire. It may not be wise to involve him.”

“He might be helpful,” Frederico intercepts, running a hand across his jaw. “He knows how the bratva operates, and that could be the difference.”

“Exactly,” I say.
