“Haveyouseen him?” she asked.

“Not today,” Seb answered honestly.

“What have you been doing?”

“I went to PT, then I went on a run.”

“How is your new physical therapist?”

“He’s good.” His mom was very opinionated on all things medical. He supposed it was because she’d been a nurse for forty years before retiring and moving to Florida a few years back.

“What’s his name?”

“You don’t need to look him up.”

“There’s nothing wrong with doing research.”

There was a knock on his door, and Seb was happy for the interruption.

“Someone’s at the door. I’ll talk to you later.”

“Who is it?”

“I don’t know. I don’t have X-ray vision. Love you.”

Seb disconnected the call and walked across the front room. When he opened the door, he saw a woman he didn’t recognize with a large, square black bag beside her.

“Hi.” The attractive brunette smiled widely.

“Hi,” Seb replied.

“I’m Amelia,” she introduced herself.

“Hi, Amelia. I’m Seb.”

She nodded and waited a beat before explaining, “I’m from Mane Attraction.”

Seb recognized that as the name of the salon and spa downtown, but that still didn’t explain why one of the employees was standing on his doorstep.

“Oh, okay.”

Her head tilted to the side. “Did you want to get started?”

“Get started?”

She lifted the square bag. “Your massage.”

“My massage?” he repeated as he realized the bag she was holding must be a portable massage table.

Amelia's eyes narrowed slightly before she pulled her phone out and turned the screen to face him. He looked at it and saw that it was a confirmation of the appointment.

Seb read the message and his first name, address, and today’s date and time were clearly on it. “Oh, um…”

Amelia sighed as something behind him caught her attention. “You didn’t book a massage, did you.”

It was a statement, not a question.

“No, I didn’t.”
