“Are you sure?” Kennedy asked, feeling bad that she was kicking people out.

“Yes, we’ll go grab some food and come back later.”

“I’ll walk you out,” Knox offered.

Kennedy lowered down onto the couch as Luci handed the baby boy to Laura and everyone said goodbye and shuffled out of the room discussing what food they were going to get.

“She’s so perfect,” Kennedy said in awe as the baby wrapped her tiny fingers around her pointer finger.

“Yes, she is.” Laura sighed dreamily. “Do you know who you’re holding?”

“You decided on names?” Kennedy asked.

“Yes.” Laura looked down at her son. “This is Jackson Paul Savage, and you are holding Jasmine Grace Savage.”

“Grace?” Kennedy repeated.

“Yep. She’s named after her Tia Kennedy.”

Kennedy had no idea that Laura was going to give her daughter Kennedy’s middle name. She felt honored.

“I thought it was only right that she shares her name with her godmother.”

“Godmother?”

Laura nodded. “Knox and I want you and Seb to be the twins’ godparents.”

Her and Seb? Kennedy wasn’t sure if she should tell her friend what happened the night before. It felt wrong to keep it from her, but also wrong to tell her.

“Unless, you don’t want to…”

“No, yes, I mean yes of course I want to!” Kennedy assured her. “I’m so honored.”

Knox returned and the conversation turned to Laura and Knox’s wedding which she wanted to have sooner rather than later since they’d both almost slipped up and let the cat out of the bag that they’d already gotten married.

Kennedy stared down at Jasmine Grace, her goddaughter, and felt an overwhelming wave of emotion wash over her. She loved this little girl so much already. And, even if she shouldn’t, she loved the little girl’s godfather, too.

“Well…” Seb’s mom prompted as she sat in the passenger seat beside him on the drive to the hospital to meet her new grandbabies after his PT session.

“Well, what?” he asked, glancing to his right.

She shrugged smugly. “I told you I wouldn’t say anything.”

“Do you want a sticker for not harassing Dr. Lee?”

She smiled, clearly proud of herself. “I’m just saying…”

“The only reason you behaved yourself was because you were impressed with the session. If not, you wouldn’t have been able to keep your mouth shut.”

“I guess we’ll never know.”

He did know. And if she hadn’t liked anything that the PT did, she definitely would have said something.

“So, how are you feeling?” her tone sounded more serious.

“A little sore, but okay.”
