“Fuck,” she gasped. Her hands flew up and grabbed my arms, digging her nails into my skin as I kept a good pace. Every thrust hit her G-spot, and her legs shook as I kept going. The noises escaping her only made my own release rush even closer, and I upped my pace, determined to get her off first.

“Look at me,” I demanded when she squeezed her eyes shut. “You trust me, Rynn?”

She snapped her eyes open, her curious gaze meeting mine for a moment before she nodded. Shifting my weight to my left arm, I lifted my other one and wrapped my fingers around her neck. Her eyes widened, but only heated excitement flared in them, so I gently squeezed the sides of her throat.

I plunged into her again, tightening my hold on her throat as her eyes rolled with pleasure. One of her hands was still on my arm, and her nails were going to leave marks. That was fine. I’d be sure to leave my own on her before the night was over. She was still able to suck in tiny breaths, and when her body began tensing and her chest heaving, I squeezed harder, cutting off her air completely.

I didn’t stop fucking her, making sure to hit her sweet spot every time. My balls tightened, pleasure tearing down my spine just as her entire body went rigid. I released my hold on her throat as she climaxed, and she sucked in a breath, her eyes closed tightly. Absolute pleasure covered her face, and a shudder ripped through her body. My release exploded inside her, and I slammed into her, burying myself as deeply as I could.

“Fuck,” I muttered, staying still for a few seconds. “So fucking mine.”

The last words I’d barely said out loud, and I wasn’t sure if she’d heard them. But it didn’t matter. I could be patient until she decided she wanted more than sex with me. Because I was taking it all. She was going to be mine.

I rolled off of her, and she let out a moan as she stretched her legs before flipping onto her stomach. I reached over and slapped her ass, making her giggle.

“Ten minutes,” I told her, lying down next to her.

“For what?”

“Then we go again.”

There was a light knock, and I climbed off my bed, pulling open the door. Jace was standing there, and he pushed his way in without waiting for me to say a word. Tripp jumped to his feet, his lips setting in a thin line when Jace looked at him. Jace had called me an hour ago to say that he was coming because there was something he needed to talk about. Besides checking in with each other about what Rynn was up to, we hadn’t had a conversation since we’d met with my dad and Chris at the café. The tension got thicker as Jace strolled forward, situating himself at the edge of my nightstand.

“I need to talk to Kian,” Jace drawled. “Alone.”

Tripp opened his mouth to argue, but I spoke up first. “It’s fine. I’ll text you when I’m done.”

Jace grinned while Tripp gave me a hesitant glance. I nodded, silently telling him I was fine. I sure as fuck didn’t trust Jace, but seeing as we were on the same side for the moment, I was confident he hadn’t walked into my room to start a fight. Tripp grumbled under his breath as he stalked out the door, slamming it behind him.

“You doing anything for holiday break?” Jace asked once we were alone.

I frowned. “You came here to ask about my vacation plans?”

“You used to go visit your mom for Christmas.”

“I’m not going this year,” I muttered, not wanting to tell him that I hadn’t seen her since I graduated from high school.

Jace studied me, but when I didn’t keep talking, he shrugged. “Good. Then you can come with me.”

“Why the hell would I want to go anywhere with you?”

“One of the professors I have on payroll told me some interesting information,” he said, finally getting down to why he was here. “Apparently, there’s a huge benefit party a few hours from here. It’s a whole weekend thing at some swanky hotel.”

“So?”

“So,the dean of this school is going. Along with a few teachers from here.” Jace pushed off the nightstand, taking a few steps closer. “It’s interesting that we haven’t heard anything about it, don’t you think?”

My annoyance flared. I wanted him to just spit out why he was here. “Is there a reason we should be interested in it?”

“Because Rynn’s friend, Alicia, is the one planning it,” he answered, raising an eyebrow. “And the professor overheard Rynn talking to Alicia about going.”

“Rynn’s going?”

“They’re leaving the day break starts. Two days from now,” he replied. “But the benefit isn’t until the following weekend. Why would Rynn leave Little Haven for a week with everything that’s going on here?”

I scoffed. “Maybe to get away from us?”
