There was a scuffle behind me, but I didn’t look away from her. “He lost it because he thinks you belong to him. I can help show him that you don’t.”

“It doesn’t look like she wants you touching her,” Reese piped up from behind me, his usual playful voice long gone. “Let her go.”

“Stay out of it,” Kian said coldly. “This is none of your business.”

They continued to argue behind me, but I let it fade into the background as I focused on Rynn. “Kiss me.”

She rolled her eyes. “No.”

“Come on,” I coaxed softly. “You don’t want to get him back for letting you down tonight? It sounds like it was a big job.”

“It was,” Kian spoke up. “And if I hadn’t stopped it, you and I would have been out of Little Haven.”

My stomach flipped at that, and I frowned, searching her face to see if it was the truth. The smallest flash of guilt swam in her gaze before anger took its place, and she grabbed my wrist to try and push me away.

“I think you’d miss us if we left,” I told her, backing her into the wall. “You can admit how much you like my company,Shadow. I know I love yours. Especially when my head is buried between your thighs.”

“Get your fucking hands off her,” Gage hissed before there was more commotion behind me.

Rynn’s eyes darted over my shoulder, and I lowered my head until my lips were a breath away from hers, reclaiming her attention. Like a switch, her scowl became a drop-dead gorgeous smile, and she stopped fighting me, pushing her body into mine. It was clear that she was up to something, but that didn’t stop my dick from hardening when she rubbed against me.

“I can find my own company,” she purred in my ear before her knee suddenly slammed into my balls. “You three are acting like I’m only here to wet your dicks, and I’m fucking tired of it.”

“Fuck,” I groaned out, staggering back. Pain ricocheted through my body, and it took everything to stay on my feet.

“Reese,” she called out just as the elevator doors opened. “Does the offer to stay at your place still stand? I think I’m going to spend the rest of my break here in Sterling.”

“It’s always open for you, Shadow,” Reese replied cheerfully.

Rage coiled through me, and I hobbled forward, trying to catch her as she walked away. Kian and Gage were on the opposite wall, and before they could get to her, Reese wrapped an arm around her shoulders, leading her into the elevator while his two friends pulled out their weapons in warning.

“Oh my fuck,” Gage gritted out, coming to a halt when one of the guys jammed a gun into his chest. “Get your ass out of the elevator.”

“No.” She stayed at Reese’s side, her eyes dancing with anger as she stared at all three of us. “I’m not in the mood to deal with any of you.”

I took a step forward, and Reese watched me warily before he spoke up. “You don’t want to piss off my MC. This is our city, and Kian knows how things work around here. Shadow is always welcome. She doesn’t want to go with you, so back the fuck off.”

“It’s just a business argument, man,” Kian explained, trying to ease the tension. “We need to talk to her.”

“I’m sure she’ll let you know when she wants to talk,” Reese tossed back, hitting a button on the panel. “Let’s go.”

His two men backed away, stepping inside the elevator, and Kian caught Gage’s arm when he attempted to rush forward. Rynn shot us a cold smile as the doors closed, and I cursed under my breath.

“She still has her bag,” Gage said, looking between us. “I know you put a tracker in it. Find out where she’s heading.”

“We’ll find out,” I taunted him. “You can go.”

“I’m not fucking leaving until I find her. And since you two have the ability to do that, I’m staying.”

Fuck. It was going to be a long night.

“Here.”Reese handed me his helmet before he swung a leg over his motorcycle. “My place is about twenty minutes from here.”

I held the helmet, guilt slicing through me as I watched Reese start his bike. He was a nice guy, and he’d never hidden that he had a crush on me. Up at the penthouse, I made it sound like I wanted to spend the night with him. I knew Reese would have my back, and I took advantage of it because it was the only way I was going to get away from the three assholes who were working my last nerve.

“Reese, about tonight—”
