She still didn’t open them, so I stopped moving my hips, too.

“No, Jersey. Please don’t stop.”

“Open your eyes,” I demanded again. “When you break for me this time, Triss, it’ll be the moment that you become mine. And only mine. For the rest of my days. Let me see it happen.”

I smacked her clit, and she opened her eyes when she screamed. I loosened my hold in her hair just enough for her to be able to turn her head toward me until I could see her face. She reached both arms over her head to try to hold onto me when I started thrusting in and out again. She managed to dig the fingernails of her right hand into my right shoulder, but her left hand shook when she placed it gently in the place between my jaw and my neck.

“Take it,” I growled against the side of her head while I picked up the pace on her clit. “Take everything I have, everything I am.”

I could see the very moment that she realized I wasn’t talking about my dick when actual tears pooled in those black coffee eyes.

“Take all of me, Triss.”

I let go of her hair the moment that her entire body was shaking against mine. She collapsed forward on the chair to lay the upper half of her body down while she tried to squirm away from me, but I held her where she was by her hips to force myself as deep as I could get while she drained everything from me. I stayed that way until I could breathe again. Then I pulled back out of her and sat on the chair myself to pull her up to sit with her back against my chest. I watched in a state of pure mesmerization at the sight of her while her breasts rose and fell with every breath that she still couldn’t catch. The sound of the back door from the house had me grabbing her towel from the chair beside us as quickly as I could move to throw it over Trista’s entire body though.

“Go back inside, Pipsqueak. Daddy’s busy,” I yelled at Utah as he took one whole step out the door. He looked in our direction for just a split second before he’d raised a hand between us and his eyes.

“Jesus fucking —. Seriously, man? It’s the middle of the day. In the open.” He was still mumbling all the way back through the door.

“I told you someone would see,” Trista said and laughed. She sat up and took the towel off herself to grab her bikini top. She held the tiny triangles against her breasts and swept all her hair over her right shoulder to wait for me to tie the strings again.

“And did you really just call yourself Daddy to Utah?” She laughed again. I grabbed her by all that hair that she’d just moved and pulled it until she was leaning back into me again.

“Careful. If you think you’re going to laugh about it, I’ll make you call me that too, baby.”

I watched her eyes shift back and forth between mine, fully expecting her to have some sassy comment in return. I would’ve been more prepared for her to elbow me straight in the ribs than for what actually happened. She reached up to get her hand on the back of my head and pulled until I was close enough for her to kiss me. It was the softest moment we’d had since being reunited. Somehow, even more intense than every time I’d kissed her before this. I let go of her hair quickly and put both arms around her entire body instead. I squeezed her back against me until she was done kissing my mouth, then I kissed my way down her cheek and across her jaw until I could lay my head on her shoulder.

“I missed you,” she whispered, like she’d been afraid to say the words out loud.

I smirked and rose up to kiss the side of her head. “Easy now. It almost sounds like you like me when you say things like that.”

“I think I do. Sometimes.”

“Sometimes,” I repeated and laughed.

“Yeah. I mean let’s not get carried away about it. I’m not going to lie and tell you that I haven’t also hated you more than once in the last twelve hours alone.”

“I love you too, baby,” I said and kissed the side of her head another time. I forced myself not to laugh when she instantly sounded like she might hyperventilate. “Calm down, Triss. You can keep telling me that you hate me for as long as I’m alive and I’ll still be just as happy to hear it every time.”

She sat up again so she could look back at me over her shoulder and actually see me, like she needed to make sure I wasn’t just fucking with her. I’d sit there and hold her questioning gaze until I was dead if that’s what she needed to be able to believe that I meant every word. She didn’t even move when the single tear escaped down her cheek. I shifted the rest of the way forward to wipe it from her skin with my thumb and put my arms around her again.

“Doing an awful lot of that lately, Fancy Face.”

“I don’t know why,” she choked out. “I don’t feel like I have any control over it anymore. I don’t know when I started being fragile.”

I scoffed. “Fragile like a bomb, maybe.”

“Jersey —.” She paused to look away from me, so I slipped my fingers under her chin to make her look right back at me. “Did you mean —? I don’t think I’ve ever been in —. I don’t know—.”

“Are you planning to finish any of these sentences?” I finally interrupted.

“I really do hate you.”

I laughed that time. “What are you trying to ask me, baby?”

“Did you mean it? Or was that just something that comes after sex for you?”

“Somehow, in like a fucking week, you clawed your way right inside me and latched on like a damn parasite. Now, there’s more of you in my heart than there is of me. I can’t even call it my heart anymore, Triss. It’s yours now. You’re the only one in there.”
