He shook his head. “No. I…” He grimaced. “I feel selfish for saying I want both, but…” He shrugged.

Rolling my lips between my teeth, I tipped my head to get him to look at me. “I’ve got three boyfriends. I think I’m the last person to call you selfish for wanting more.”

His brow furrowed as his eyes searched mine. “You really don’t mind?”

“I’m sure there will be a lot more discussions about it, but if being with Bennett makes you happy, then I want that for you. As long as I still get to have you, too.”

His eyes widened before he gave me a real genuine smile. No extra flirtation, no teasing. Just Luka happy. I hugged him, breathing him in, before turning my attention to Bennett.

Sitting down beside him, I took his hand. He was staring down at the floor, guilt and pain on his face.

“I’m sorry, Bennett. I shouldn’t have ignored your calls. I was upset, and I was afraid that if I answered, it would only get worse.”

He shook his head slightly. “It’s my fault.”

Grayson made a disgruntled sound, moving to his other side. “How in the hell is it your fault?”

He lifted a shoulder. “I push too hard. I brought Julie in, I asked to share her, I started things with Luka. I was just trying to help. I didn’t want to make things worse.”

Luka snorted, and I shot him a look, but he moved to sit on the coffee table facing Bennett. “You’re taking credit for my ideas, man. It’s a little messed up.”

Bennett whipped his head up, glaring at him, but Luka just lifted his eyebrows. “I was the one who started the sharing thing. And I was the one who asked you to experiment with me. Out of everyone, you’re probably the least to blame. You take care of us, even when we’re being assholes. You found Julie because you wanted to help Grayson. You started seeing her because you wanted her to be happy. You and I are a thing because you wanted to help me figure things out. Tell me I’m wrong.”

Bennett pressed his lips together, shrugging again. Luka nodded. “Yeah, I figured. Stop blaming yourself. You’re protective of your friends. That doesn’t make you a bad guy.”

Grayson gripped his shoulder tightly. “I second that. I know you’ve lost people in the past, but you aren’t losing us. I’m not climbing into bed with you, though. Do that with the other two.”

It broke the tension, and Bennett snorted, shoving him away. “Shut up.”

Grayson laughed, bumping shoulders with him. “You’re my best friend, but I can honestly say I’ve got no interest in your cock.”

“Who says he’s interested in yours?” Luka scowled.

Grayson raised his eyebrow. “You sound jealous.”

It made Luka blush, and I burst into giggles. Hearing them bantering again soothed something inside me and when Bennett put his arm around my shoulders, I nestled against his side. He relaxed against the couch and I used his chest as a pillow, just listening to them talk.

Chapter Forty-Seven

JULIE

“Can you tell me about your mom?”

Things had settled after our conversation, and we were all relaxing on my couch, but I still had questions. Grayson’s reaction still really hurt and I wanted to make sense of it, so I didn’t make the same mistake twice.

He sighed, running his fingers through his hair. “There’s honestly not a lot to tell. She didn’t support me when I was starting my business, told me I was making a mistake and wasting my inheritance, berated me constantly, and I cut her off. She came crawling back once my business took off, pretending to want to be a family again, but I figured out pretty quickly that she only wanted to be a part of my life because I was making money. When I refused to give her any, she started screaming at me in public and I walked away. Since then, she tries to connect with me every few months, saying I owe her and need to take care of her. I told a few secretaries not to answer her calls, but I was so stressed when we first met that I forgot to mention it.”

Sucking in a breath, I reached for his hand, lacing our fingers. He kissed my knuckles, smiling at me. “It’s not your fault. I mean it. I’m sorry I reacted the way I did. I wasn’t expecting her and it threw me off guard. Not that it’s any excuse for the way I acted. I’ll do what I can to make it up to you.” His brow furrowed, and he studied me. “But, sweetheart, why didn’t you talk to me? I thought our relationship was really strong. Why was your first reaction to run?”

Grimacing, I snuggled closer to Bennett. He squeezed me tighter and Luka put his hand on my knee, giving me an encouraging look.

“After… After you got upset, I ran into Alan. He… He said a lot of not nice things, and I was so upset, I listened to him.”

Bennett growled, pulling me into his lap, and Luka looked like he wanted to hurt someone.

“That fucking bastard. I swear to god, he’s tormenting her on purpose. Pathetic piece of shit.”

Bennett bobbed his head in agreement. “Did you get someone to look into his phone?”
