"Thought it was time for us to stay here."

I arch my eyebrows. "Why?"

"My dad wants to see ya."

"Oh, is he back?"

"Aye."

"Okay. It'll be good to see him too."

We get through the gates and pull up in front of the steps. Tynan gets out of the SUV, helps me out, and leads me into the house.

We're walking up the stairs when we run into Tully. He booms, "There ya are." He tugs me into him for a hug and pecks my cheek.

The scent of his cigar smoke flares in my nostrils. I embrace it, realizing I missed it. I ask, "Hi. How was your trip back?"

"Fine. It's good to see ya. Is my son treating ya well?"

I think about earlier this morning when we fought over my da. I nod. "Yea. But do ya think ya could tell him to find my da?"

Tully gives me a funny look, but it quickly disappears. He looks at Tynan and orders, "Ya need to look harder, son."

Tynan groans. "Don't you two gang up on me again."

"Gang up on ya? I don't gang up on ya. Do you gang up on him, Tully?" I chirp.

Tully acts as innocent as I do. "No. I don't know what he's talking about. He's kind of crazy at times, though, isn't he? Imagines things."

I grin. "Yea, I think he does imagine a lot of things."

"All right. Enough, you two," Tynan reprimands, then tightens his grip around my waist. "If you'll excuse us, Maeve and I are changing before dinner."

Tully and Tynan exchange a glance. It makes me as uncomfortable as the one between Killian and him, but I'm starting to realize that there will always be things I know nothing about.

Tynan keeps his work from me. I don't expect him to share it, but there seem to be lots of secrets. I don't know if he keeps things from me to protect me or for another reason. I know he would never hurt me, even though he doesn't love me and only married me because he could.

Tully steps aside. "Go on, then."

Tynan leads me up the stairs. We get into our suite and he starts to pull the zipper down on my dress.

I spin to face him and slap his hand. "What are ya doing? We're in the middle of the family room."

"It's our family room."

"Oh, yea." It still shocks me how this entire wing is his. "No one else will come in here, right?"

"Not if I don't want them to," he claims.

"Good. Sit down."

He arches his eyebrow. "Why do I need to sit down?"

I point to the couch. "Just sit down."

"All right, I'll humor you." He sits, spreads his arms across the back of the couch, and asks, "What now, sunshine?"

I go over to the desk, rifle through the drawer, and pull out a pen and paper. I tease, "It's time I show ya my talent."
