"No? What about ghosts?"

She bites on her lip and looks away.

I reach for her chin and turn it back toward me. "I want nothing more than to live in New York with you. I just want to be sure you want to live in New York for the right reasons."

She thinks for a moment, then admits, "I can appreciate that. And maybe a part of me does want to escape some of the memories from here."

"Ya can't escape your memories, sunshine," I tell her.

"No, but everywhere I go here reminds me of Da. And New York doesn't. It's a fresh start. Is it bad that I want a fresh start?"

"With me?" I remind her.

She laughs. "Yea. With you. Of course. Ya want me to say it every time?"

"I don't know. Maybe."

She softly laughs, rolling her eyes, and then her face turns serious. "Tynan, ya love New York. Ya thrive there. You're just different there. I love who ya are here, but—"

"Am I bad here?" I interject, wondering if I am.

She hesitates, then answers, "No, you're not bad, just different. It's like in New York, you're alive in a different way...in your element."

I can't argue what she's saying. She's right. I do feel alive in New York. But I want to do the right thing for both of us, not just me. So I ask, "What about you? Will you be in your element?"

She answers, "I think I did pretty well there, right? I know Arianna won't be there the whole time, but I can probably make other friends."

"Of course you'll make other friends. You'll make friends no matter where ya go," I declare.

She laughs. "It's that easy, huh?"

I shrug. "Everyone loves ya."

She blurts out, "I don't have friends here anyway. I mean, Lauren, Scarlet, and Alaina are my friends, but I don't have any other ones."

I study her, then question again, "But ya love New York enough to move there full-time?"

She beams. "Yea, I do. And I miss my classes and everything that we did there."

"Everything? Meaning?"

Her lips twitch. She smirks. "Everything, babes. Including the club."

I groan. "Don't remind me about the club."

"You'll take me there again, right? If we move back?"

I confess, "I was going to take ya there the night we left."

"Really?"

"Aye. It was solidified when ya came back from the bathroom, slid your panties in my fist, then put your fingers on my lips."

She slowly drags her fingers down my arm, coyly asking, "Is that all I need to do?"

I chuckle. "It was that night. But then everything happened, so..."

"So we're here. No club for us." She sticks out her lip and pouts.
